Squirrels are much smarter than most people think: more squirrels are attending university than ever before. They know where to find the best nuts.
And I thought the University I work at owned every squirrel in the world. You may actually be right. 😀
We in no way meant to imply you’re anything but completely sane. Some of your co-workers, however. . .
I’ve had my suspicions about those rascals.
There were heaps of nuts at my Uni too!!!
It’s their natural habitat, isn’t it?
A breeding ground some would say 🙂
Even nuts have to come from somewhere.
Then they need to feed on the brains of the professors.
If they fed on brains, they’d be Wombie Zombie Squirrels.
I always thought they produced squirrels
…and pigeons. You can’t forget the pigeons
Maybe the Biology departments are carrying out secret breeding experiments to blanket the earth with pigeons and squirrels.
Is this where the Nutty Professor teaches? Ha,ha,ha!
He’d certainly be welcome here, and would probably have tenure.
This can’t be.. There are no squirrels in Iceland and Iceland is completely nuts!
I never really thought of Iceland as being nuts.
As to your lack of squirrels, I have asked the advance troops of the Icelandic Wombie Invasion Force to bring along a horde of hardy arctic squirrels so that you’ll be able to enjoy the critters in the near future.
Looks like a lovely campus…
once you get past the INFESTATION! Tree rats as far as the eye can see! AHHHH! 🙂
I guess you could consider it to be an infestation when there are more squirrels in class than students.
it is a very impressive student to squirrel ratio! 🙂
At the University of Wombania, we endeavor to uphold the highest standards.
Bwahahahahahaha. You know there is a lot of truth in this.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Yes, but don’t tell the universities.
Wow Wommbania has it’s own Uni. I didn’t know Wombies were so highly educated. I don’t think you should educate squirrels, it could be a big mistake as you don’t know how far into the realms of nut collection technology their Squirrely little brains will delve. They could go nuclear… WMNC’s could become a genuine world security issue (Weapons of Mass Nut Collection)
Being an equal opportunity learning establishment, it’s hard to turn away squirrels just because they’re a little nutty. But you raise a good point, and we should be more vigilant in fighting the radical extremists squirrels who give a bad name to average squirrels everywhere.
The nuts are the staff right?
That’s what the students would say, however the faculty would likely have a different opinion.
The Gimcrack is full to overflowing with nuts. I rather like them.
Nuts have their place. Where would we be without them? Politician-less I suppose.
I used to go hunting for Squirrel. I never could find one. I didn’t realize that all I had to do was take my shotgun to a university and bag as many as I like. Wait… maybe I shouldn’t do that 🙁
Yes, that sounds a little dangerous. If the squirrels decided to gang up on you, you probably wouldn’t make it out alive.
Thanks so much for this laugh.
Glad you liked it, Indrani.
thanks for stopping by A Few Clowns Short.
Squirrels and universities – never gave it much thought. Do you think squirrels are idealist free thinkers? I don’t. They are not much into abstraction. They are just nut crunchers.
That might be true for the majority of squirrels, but like in any group there are always a few wild nuts in the bunch.
They found the mothership of nuts. 🙂
They definitely have!
Ha! Not the squirrels we have here. Ours are ground squirrels. They are incredible pests if you like to garden. I am sure they have their place in the natural world, but I wish they would stay out of our gardens at work. I have no idea what ground squirrels eat, but I do not think it is nuts. Actually I just paused and Googled that and they do eat nuts, and just about anything else they come across.
Squirrels are quite smart and seem to have adapted well to take advantage of what humans can provide for them. Like gardens and bird feeders. I’m sure they appreciate what you plant for them.
you don’t have to be nuts to go there, but it helps (the squirrels)!
The squirrels definitely like all the nuts that come to the university.
I lived in a caravan ( not on campus! ) for a while and these little creatures can drive you NUTS! They steal your socks to make beds for their babies! Or when you are out, they climb into your bed. Nuts!
I’ve camped among squirrels and chipmunks, but only for brief periods. I never knew they liked socks! Perhaps this answers the perennial question of where those lost socks end up. Most people think it’s the dryer that eats them, when maybe it’s enterprising squirrels repurposing them.
They are all at the frat houses doing stuff they might never remember. Not without the visit the video evidence they have on them.
Squirrels plus frat houses equals uncontrolled mayhem!
