Don’t hold your breath waiting for an honest politician. It’s an oxymoron unlikely to be disproven.
An honest politician??? More chance of finding that end of rainbow pot o’ gold.
There’s been a lot of controversy here in Australia about our Prime Minister’s pre-election promise that she would NOT introduce a carbon tax. She has now introduced a carbon tax. When called to account about why she “LIED” she just fobs it all off with the usual political double talk & always avoids answering the actual question.
Unfortunately that sort of thing is almost routine these days. We need some non-politician type of politicians.
Non-political politicians??? Great idea & I reckon Fraz would be just the man, errr… Wombie for the job.
Hey, that’s a good idea! I’ll run on the chocolate ticket. Free chocolate for everyone!!
Step into the light Chris. Ha,ha,ha!
No! I prefer my fantasy land where all politicians are good politicians.
Hey that sounds a bit like one of those nightmare fantasies Chris so be careful or those politicians will be after you, and with noses that long they will catch up a lot quicker 🙂
Trapped in a land of only politicians does sound an awful lot like a nightmare.
Oh really? Suppose the opposite: Rather than a politician that does all he promises, suppose a politician that promises all he does:
“In my third year, I will have an affair, which will cause a great scandal”
I suppose it would be anti-climatic, but at least such a beast would be predictable.
Chris sure has some high standards for his politicians. I’m happy if the man or woman I voted for, does five percent of what was promised.
Even 1% is a start 🙂
“One percent truthful.” That would be a wining campaign slogan.
We probably would accept that for politicians, but we wouldn’t accept that for anyone else.
lol, yea, one percent truthful would make a good slogan. sad times indeed.
A sign of the times, I suppose. Or maybe all times. . .
I agree with Binky!! Stop living in never-never land Chris!!
Such politician will never exist…trust me.
Maybe we should demand that they do!
I’m a bit more demanding than Chur. I want a politician to do 10% of what they promised
Yes and 25% would be even better, perhaps a miracle for those lazy slobs but you never know… One day? 🙂
Ten percent would be a start, and 25% would be even better. Now if we could just get the politicians on board.
Hey get a grip Chris this is politics we are talking about and you know what those pesky politicians are like? they are a bunch of… Well everyone else knows 🙂 Perhaps Pinocchio might give you a clue? And noooo they don’t ALL have big noses…
That would be a good idea: all politicians should be required to wear a Pinocchio nose lie-detector. Then we would all know when they were being dishonest. Which would probably be more often than not.
But they don’t need a Pinocchio nose lie-detector. Their title tells you they’re liars.
Title: Politician = zero honesty
A little cynical of politicians, are we?
Just being 100% honest.
I think you’re in the majority.
Andro would you be talking about their big mouths full of non-truths?? or big rear-ends from doing nothing? 😉 (BTW, Andro, you can reach me by the “contact cheese-button” under my header, I would love an invite to continue reading your wickedness)
I guess you don’t like politicians much, either.
Yes both of those Grammy-Mouth-Tails 🙂
I have no way of inviting you from my Space
my wickedly fine friend, it has to be users of
WordPress only, so I am sorry about that 🙁
I will keep calling by and adding my thoughts
to your postings and I will send you an e mail
now and again too until I can open my Space
up again, hopefully after Crimbo 🙂
Hey Binky those Politicians do have long noses
I was watching on the News24 channel this eve
and dear me they certainly get longer every day 🙂
Have a wicked rest of day Binky and
eat plenty of chocolate and wine gums 🙂
Grammy-Mouth-Tails who is that? 🙂 lol
Sorry about that blunder Grammy-Mouse-Tails I think that this keyboard is cracking up in this UK freezing weather 🙁
Get Andro some hot chocolate, STAT!
Thank you Winky you’re a star 🙂
I really should devise a laser-powered nose measuring device so that we can correlate nose length vs honesty.
Yes a great idea Binky, in the UK it used to be calculated by someone’s feet size but now it sometimes means other things so best not to even go there 🙂 lol
Yes. I think the nose device would be less controversial.
But, people who do that aren’t politicians. 🙂
Are you implying that we can’t trust politicians?
I don’t think Disney could even create a politician that grand. 😀
A Disney audio animatronic politician might not be a bad idea! Anyone got Lincoln’s number at the Hall of Presidents?
I was a committeeman involved in local party politics for about 5 years (and people actually voted for me!). If you’re idealistic like I am, the fastest way to become disillusioned is to get involved in politics. It truly brings out the worst in people!
I’d vote for you!
Although I’ve had no involvement in politics, that sounds pretty much the way I thought it would be.
It is a shame how true this comic is. We need to make Never-Never Land real in this case.
Yeah, we could either go to Never-never land ourselves, or send all the politicians there.
Well said, PDM!
Thanks, Doctor X!
A very good point, Mr. M…
I’m so happy you’ve brought this important point to my attention.
While I can neither confirm nor deny this allegation I’ll be sure to have my people look into the matter right away…
I know, it was your people’s fault, not yours.
Wake up Peter Pan and smell the lies and deception. Oh and Chris, might want to move that chair a little bit further away from the telly, it will give you a headache 🙂
I like the extra radiation. It makes me think clearer. Oh wait, it’s a flat screen. Maybe that’s my problem!
Politicians that do what they promise? They’re happily working on something else
Politicians that aren’t afraid to take a stand? They’ve probably lost so many elections, they’re broke now
Politicians with intelligence, etc.? The other politicians beat them by playing dirty.
If we could only ban politics from politics, maybe we’d have something worthwhile.
Honest politicians? Well, they’re honestly politicians.
And honestly that’s about all you can say about their honesty.
Politicians and ethics mix like oil and water, Peter Pan, I mean Chris!
That’s a pretty good analogy, unfortunately.
Just ignore the politicians. Makes life so much easier on the brain. 🙂
It would make things easier, that’s for sure.
Still can’t access your site, Mel.
Never, never land?? I think with politicians it is gimme more & more land, all paid for with taxes from you… ughh. Binky don’t run for office, you will get a big head & all your good intentions will get bought out by the disguised anti-chocolate lobby and they will blind you into taxing chocolate into the sky … shudders with the thought!
Anti-chocolate lobby? Chocolate tax?! Could even politicians stoop that low?
hi i like pie
I like pie too, especially chocolate pie!
Me Too Winky 🙂
I’ll get an extra-large chocolate pie so we can all share!
That is an excellent thought Winky, you know whenever there is logic to be found you are always (Well apart from Fraz) the front runner and that is truly awesome 🙂 I think a larger pie will be fangtastic 🙂 VvvV Fangs
Usually the only kind of logic people say I have is il-logic. Maybe my logic has gotten better!
Suppose they promised not to do anything they promised?
That’s one promise you could count on them fulfilling.
Then they wouldn’t be politicians.
That might be a good thing!
That is a relief! When I saw the title I thought “what the…. have they all lost their mind over there?” Now I see it is just Chris. I’m sure the rest of the gang will get him back to reality.
Yes, don’t worry Will. Chris lost his mind some time ago. Roughly about the time we entered his life. But the rest of us are perfectly sane. Well, most of us, anyway.
Politicians are like that. They promise but never do exactly what they promised. That’s why I don’t vote.
It’s difficult to image what it would be like if politicians actually did what they promised to do.
So true! Every politician that runs for an election will promise you the world but once they’re in their whole game changes. I’m finally done finals and now I get to catch up reading your comics =D!
Unfortunately that’s the way politicians are these days.
We hope you aced all your exams and can now take a well-deserved break!
Yeah, it’s like from never – never land…. just sleezy dreams.
Maybe one day in the distant future we’ll have honest politicians.
