Bees are supposed to be social insects, but sometimes they don’t act very social towards others.
(This comic strip was previously published on August 16, 2010.)
Good to see even the marsupials have a hard time finding a co-operative bee.
Bees never seem to listen to me!
Sometimes they just buzz off 🙂
If they’re not stinging you!!
Yes funny how they like to sting rather than buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 🙁
Not so funny if you’re the one getting stung though!
You need to practice some high karate kicks and super fast chopping action on those bees, that should stop them stinging you 🙂
Yeah, then those bees wouldn’t dare sting me!
Take that, you bees!
You could even try some Kung Fu on them or better still some Fraz Fu Yeeeeeeeeeeeeetarrrkachop, well done Fraz no more bees 🙂
I like the sound of Fraz Fu!! Maybe I’ll make up some special moves and start teaching a class!
That is a great idea Fraz and with Binky building that Rocket Ship we can try those moves out on some Aliens 🙂
We could be the security crew for the rocket trip, being experts in Fraz Fu! Any nasty aliens wouldn’t stand a chance!
he’s doing it wrong !
when dealing with bees (and wasps) one should arrive at the negotiating table armed with a rolled up newspaper
I’ll have to try the newspaper next time. Talking to the bees didn’t work very well.
DUNCAN, do you want Fraz killed???
Is the newspaper thing dangerous??
Only if you draw it back too far.
Maybe I should practice on something less stingy, then.
Yeah, like the cat!!!
But Zoe has claws! And she’s not afraid to use them!
Hey they have long fangs too 🙁
Lucky for me Zoe doesn’t usually bite!
I think she smells the wine gums and pancakes and hopes that you will share them 🙂
I’d share my pancakes and wine gums with Zoe! But I thought she only likes fish cakes and icky stuff like that!
Yes and ice cream too, well my cat used to enjoy eating mine, usually when I had forgotten to move my dish before leaving the room 🙁 Zoe might be the same so be careful Fraz 🙂
I’d better guard my ice cream, then! If Zoe really wants some I’d giver her a bowl, but I don’t think I’d like her eating from mine!
No me neither, I had to abandon my bowl of ice cream and sadly there was none left so I missed out that time 🙁 lol
Oh, well, it’s hard to be mad at your cat.
Or a can of bug spray!!
Bug spray might be quicker!
Bees definitely can’t be trusted
That’s for sure!
Everything is off the table when the stingers come out!
Maybe I should get a stinger myself.
Or hide under the table 🙂
Or under the table under Winky!
And maybe get Binky to stand in front, he could wear a bee keepers outfit or run ahead with the honey pot 🙂
That’d be a good idea, but I don’t know if Binky would go for it. Winky actually does have a bee costume!
Winky will certainly do for the bee keeping job, and then all we have to do is wait until they are out of sight and we can continue our quest for more honey, without getting stung 🙂
That’s a good plan. Winky could pretend to be the king bee and lure the bees away while we gather all the honey!
Now you’re talking Fraz, I like it 🙂
Now I just have to convince Winky to squeeze into his bee costume again.
That must have been a lawyer bee.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was!
You need to sweeten the deal.
Maybe I should have offered him some honey?
or a Gummy Bear
Could a honey bee love a gummy bear?
A wine gum, certainly.
Everyone loves wine gums!
A Gummy Bear and a bee, that could be quite wrong 😯
Would that make a Gummy Bee? That sounds a lot less dangerous!
Certainly make the stinger softer.
A softer stinger, plus you could eat them! I think all bees should be gummy bees!
I wonder what gummy bees will taste like? 🙂
You got Fraz’s expressions perfect for the given situation.
The bee’s expression was a lot harder to capture!
Now you’re being modest. 🙂
He put me through torture to get my expression right!!
Kick him, and take his chocolate.
Now I’m a criminal on the run!!
Chase after the lawyer bee. He could be your witness to temporary insanity of being stung.
A lawyer AND a bee? I’m not sure I’d want to trust him.
The lawyer would probably turn out to be a hornet instead 🙁
This is getting to sound too dangerous for me!
It gets worse if that flying piranha joins in 🙁
Yikes! I’m outta here!!
I fortunately enough have only been stung once, when I was little.
Bees should stick to stinging their own kind!
I would have to agree!
If we could only tell that to the bees!
Those bees do whatever they want whenever they want to. That’s the way of bees.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
I found that out the hard way! Lousy bees!
Or flying cockroaches. Damn pricks!
I guess it’s a good thing cockroaches don’t have stingers.
They have big teeth though, or maybe that is the Tranylvanian species? 🙂
I wonder if there is a Vampire Bee? Or a Vampire Cockroach?
Well you would have to wait until midnight to find out, and that sounds a bit creepy 🙁 But with you being the Jnr Prince of Vampires you should be safe 🙂
Maybe I’ll try to stay up late and find out then. A Vampire bug watch! Maybe Winky will join me, just in case.
Bring a flashlight. And a camera. You could sell the photographs or the video to Animal Planet.
You think so? I’ll have to try taking their picture then. I could be famous!
Just watch out for any Bat droppings, they often use those Vamp-Catapults and there is no shortage of ammunition either 🙁
I guess I better wear a helmet and face mask!
Use a shield too, just in case 🙂
A shield would be a good idea!
Bees never listen…
Maybe bees are deaf?
All that buzzing static. They cannot hear a thing.
I wouldn’t be surprised! They’re always buzzing, but they never sing.
They don’t like singing but they love hearing someone howling after the stinger goes in 🙁 Ouch
Yeah, bees are funny like that! Well, not really funny, I guess.
Just be careful where you bend over, those bees will sting anywhere that is on show 🙁
I think I’ll just sit down, then!
Bees can be very sneaky. They can come out of nowhere sometimes.
I think they hide and then bomb-dive you when they see you coming.
Fraz is lucky it wasn’t a killer negotiator
That bee wasn’t much of a negotiator at all. He just stung me and ran! Or flew.
That bee is going to die. 🙂
He’s lucky he flew away before I. . . oh yeah.
I have heard of a sting before but that was just plain cheeky of that bee 🙁
I thought so, too. He’s definitely not getting any of my chocolate!
Or any of our pancakes either after pulling that stunt, it was cheeky and rude too 🙁
Yeah, no treats for cheeky bees! Maybe I should make a sign.
Yes but preferably on a poster, as those bees don’t take too kindly to finger protests 🙂
That’s what I meant! And if the bees still don’t obey my sign/poster, I can always whack them with it!
Yes good idea but make sure it’s on a very long stick 🙂
In case you have to run 🙂
Yeah, a ten-foot pole on my poster would be a good idea, so I wouldn’t have to touch them.
I guess to negotiate with bees, you have to have something they want!…winegums maybe?
Maybe. I guess I should have thought of offering the bees wine gums as part of the deal before he stung me!
Sting it back! Er… Hit it with a tennis racquet?
If I only had a stinger!
Maybe a whacker might be just as good, though.
On the plus side the dumb bumble bee will be dead soon!!! W.C.C.
I’ve got his stinger if he wants it back.
He paid the ultimate price for that sting. Dumb bugs! You’d think their mamas and papas would teach them not to commit suicide by stinging wombats.
Maybe I should set up a school for bees to teach them right!
Aw come on he was just shaking hands,
Some bees don’t play fair!
Good thing he did not want a hug!
That could be ouchy!
Just be glad it wasn’t in your bonnet, Fraz!
Or my bonbons!
I think your socks are safe 🙂
Are you trying to tell me they’re stinky again??
No but they could come in useful on those hard to get rid off types of bees, though I am not sanctioning the wearing of the same socks for a whole month just to find out if my theory is correct 🙂 But it is an interesting idea 🙂
Well that might be worth a try. Some of the hangers-on on my island might decide to leave, too, if my socks get smelly enough.
Yes you could do with some peace and quiet, I mean ever since you got your island it has been crowded out with everyone, and so the honking socks scenario could be a winner 🙂
I think so! And then I could order in some Pirate Pizza and eat it all myself!
I have the same problem with spiders, except instead of stinging me they crawl all over me! Ech!!
The spiders probably do that just to bug you!
Bees, they’re like Terminators. They can’t be reasoned with, they can’t be bargained with, and they absolutely WILL NOT STOP! Until you are dead.
But I love their honey.
It sounds like you have killer bees where you are. I think I’d wear one of those beekeeper suits!
Or maybe run for the hills, I wonder if bees like Wombie hunts? Best to avoid them at all costs Fraz 🙂
Maybe I shouldn’t walk through the park eating honey, then.
Or pancakes either as some of those Queen bees love pancakes and the Kings just eat anything that they like 🙁
I thought Bee Queens had their special royal jelly or something. Why can’t they just leave me and my pancakes alone?!
Well you know what those Queen Bees are like, they think that just because they are royalty that they can eat anyone’s pancakes 🙁 Cheeky I know…
And with their stingers, they probably can eat anyone’s pancakes! I should make a pancake bee trap.
Bees are an untrustworthy lot. You can only rely on them as a group. Individually, they’ll sting ya every time. 😀
Bees sting first and ask questions later!
Actually bees don’t like to sting anyone as once they have used their stinger they are done for, but wasps will always sting you so watch out for those little critters 🙂
I guess that’s true. Wasps are the worst! They can be pretty mean, too! And they probably like stinging you!
I think they make a beeline for you and laugh all the way until their stingers zapp with kamikaze accuracy 🙁 ouch
They probably do! I’m banning all wasps from my island, and if they don’t obey, they’re going to get it!
Yes a No Wasp ‘n’ Bee Zone sounds just about right to me Fraz, I just hope that those Meerkats don’t decide on moving in after the wasps and bees have gone 🙁
Those Meercats are kinda cute, but I’m not sure I’d want a family of them moving in and taking over my burrow. It was a lot of work digging that!
Awww… Now the bee will die Fraz. I hope you give him a nice funeral
That wasn’t really what I planned to do.
Maybe you could coat him in some chocolate and make some bug treats 🙂
Ewww!! I like my chocolates filled will cherries or nuts, not bees!
Yes those bugs would be a nasty surprise especially if the stinger was still attached 🙁
That’s for sure. I guess that would be a chocolate that bites back!
Hahaha bee can’t understand English Fraz 😉
That could be part of the problem.
No they only understand that you have their honey and that they want it back… Run Fraz they are after you 🙁
I guess stealing honey from their nest wasn’t such a good idea!
You should wash you hands after stealing it Fraz…it could get rid the evident of honey smell on your hand
I have to remember to wash my hands of it next time!
Those bees can sniff out a honey thief at a thousand paces, even if you have already washed your hands 🙁
Well maybe I should give up stealing their honey, too. But bears do it all the time!
You seemed to know a lot about Bee Andro….did you have bad experience with it?
Andro knows everything about everything! He’s sort of like Binky, but bigger. And without the rockets.
Wow, that’s a pretty intense bee. Most die after they sting.
Maybe he had a reusable stinger!
Ouch! poor Fraz… those darn bees just don’t listen to reason. Good thing you are not allergic like me, or you would have to go to the Dr. for shots & stuff… more ouches! I found tho that the big fat bumbly bees are nicer, they normally won’t bother you if you don’t bother them.
It must not be fun to be allergic to bees. But I guess it’s better than to be allergic to chocolate!
That is a nightmarish thought Fraz, quick let’s open another box of chocolates, we need to check that we are not allergic to it, then we can try another box, just to be doubley sure 🙂
Yeah, I think that’d be a good thing to check. We wouldn’t want some chocolate allergy to jump out and surprise us!
Yup, I bee-lieve it. hyuck hyuck.
To Bee or Not To Bee,
That Is The Question 🙂
I’d rather not bee a bee, if it’s all the same with you.
Fraz… you are SO cute!
It wasn’t cute to get stung, though!
