From afar, the night’s sky may seem tranquil and unchanging, but the universe is a violent place indeed.
Fraz has been taken in by a common fallacy: he’s confusing an increase in his awareness of violence with an increase of violence. Also, the cost to relocate to another universe is astronomical.
So that’s why we hear about more earthquakes now! Take that, 2012!
Or the world really is starting to fall apart.
That’s very true on both counts. We would have to know the violence rate of the early universe to calculate whether or not violence is in fact increasing.
Violent? Fraz obviously hasn’t been in my neighborhood 🙁 More black holes than you can poke a stick at and don’t get me started on those damn supernova’s!!! The moment they moved in next door …sheez!!!!
Those supernovas never mow their lawn.
No, they just obliterate them.
You telling me Bearman.
Perhaps you need to find a calmer corner of the universe where there’s less chance of being sucked into oblivion.
Hahaha, funny. Too bad we can’t just call the cops on space 😉
Where are the Space Cops when you need them? Probably at the local space diner.
Eating space Doughnuts
With cosmic sprinkles.
I was just talkin’ to a space cop and he said that they ain’t the problem. It is all the black holes and loopholes that the space lawyers use to let the space perps go free.
If the black holes & loopholes are the problem, then what is the solution? Maybe send some quasars after them?
The quasars would be a military presence and is restricted from law enforcement duties in certain parts of the universe according to the articles of enforcement in the Constipation of the Galactic Alliance. Oh, I mean Constitution. I think.
I didn’t realize you were so well versed in the laws of the Galactic Alliance & the constitutional implications.
It is indeed and the space cops are at the local donut shop. Just saying.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
No wonder interstellar violence is getting out of control if the space cops aren’t properly patrolling their beats!
I rather think a certain gentleman in the USA would be rapturous if a black hole would swallow him up right now 😉
That wouldn’t be a bad resolution. Maybe we could send him out to meet one.
Physics always seems to get physical, doesn’t it?
Just chillax, already, universe! 🙂
Yeah, the universe needs to learn to play fair! Or else it can go sit in the corner.
it seems like there should be a scientific sounding term for when the universe is in a time-out! 🙂
If the universe gets a time out, does that mean we all get a time out?
I think that’s all relativ(ity)! 🙂
the corner is already full up
There are just too many bad universes around these days.
Gosh!!! Maybe I should’ve kept Barry & Cedric nice & safe here on planet earth. Hope they will be ok. Can you see them through the telescope Fraz???
Can’t see Barry & Cedric, but they should be safe as long as they stay in the solar system because most of those bad things are far far away. Other than asteroids. And comets. And maybe Binky if he gets off course.
Ha! That only happens when you are using an Acme Telescope. Ha,ha,ha!
If the Coyote would stay out of it, maybe things would be less violent.
Consolation is in order. Where’s the chocolate? If you tell me a black hole ate it I’m going to cry.
Chocolate is always a good idea to soothe the upset soul. And I don’t believe black holes like chocolate, actually.
So where do the stars go once consumed? Just asking.
It’s all part of Einstein’s theory of relativity which means they must go to stay with relative.
That would be an exceedingly bright reunion.
One of the great mysteries of the universe. What really happens to matter that is sucked into a black hole?
This is too heavy for me too, Fraz. Is Binky speaking in English?
Binky thinks he is, but I kind of doubt it most of the time.
God’s in one of His moods, perhaps?
And there’s apparently not much we can do about it.
With all of that violence, good luck trying to sell a house in this universe if you want to move to another universe!
Changing universes is always such a hassle. Not to mention the commute!
Geezers, with all that wild talk from Binky about ravenous black holes, it brought to mind a pack of wombies in a chocolate factory!
I am still worried about 2012… need chocolate to calm down.
Chocolate is the best calmer downer that there is.
Now if I only could find a chocolate factory. . .
If science is so violent, I’m not sure I approve of my kids learning about it.
You always have to be careful of what your kids might learn at school. Knowledge can often be a dangerous thing.
To think this could all end next week with a surprise visit from some small, cold, rocky, body from the outer reaches of the solar system. And to top it off, the universe is now thought to be 97% or thereabouts made up of something we can not see, measure, or detect in any way except with mathematics. I’m going back to weeding my garden and not thinking about such things.
One errant asteroid, and it could be all over for all of us.
The dark matter and dark energy that supposedly make up most of the universe sounds a little suspicious to me. I think some cosmological theories need to be revised.
Very violent. I’m glad we have comics. 🙂
And luckily there’s no violence in comics!
Just don’t look up! And you won’t see the next galaxy coming.
Unless it is coming over the horizon…….
Just look down!
It is over in a flash—————————–
That’s why I like to keep my eyes closed. It’s a lot less scary that way.
I’m recommending Wombania to my Astro-Physicist correspondent , I think she will approve of this.
Thanks! I hope she won’t think it’s too violent.
Binky, do you have any idea why my pawns are in hiding and shouting that the universe is about come to an end?
Does it have anything to do with your latest volcanic eruption? If I was in Iceland, I’d be hiding in my deepest burrow. Stay safe, Pawns!
I believe it’s what’s known as Universal Nature. Or is it Natural Universe? Anyway, it’s got something to do with the Big Bang, which is kinda violent in itself now that I think about it.
Yes, the Big Bang did not set a very good standard for us all. Born of violence begets violence. A vicious violent circle.
