It’s always good to know how to bake yourself some treats, even if others don’t appreciate your unique cooking skills.
That reminds me of the first time I made fudge — I think I was around 7, and I wasn’t supposed to cook when I was in the kitchen alone, but I thought that when my mom tasted the incredible fudge I was making, she’d be so impressed that I wouldn’t get into trouble. The only problem was that the recipe called for corn syrup, but we didn’t have any — so I used corn oil instead. The result was bitter and slimy — more like sludge than fudge.
That’s pretty funny, though I guess it wasn’t at the time. Corn oil does sound like a reasonable substitute for corn syrup, though, especially if you’re a kid.
Hhmmm, I suspect these particular ‘chocolate’ cookies are an acquired taste
Yes, I would rather think so.
Maybe they will be alright if you put some icing on them.
That’s a good suggestion. Would you like to taste-test them?
Right now I’m on a low-mud diet but maybe later.
Too many adults are afraid of mud!
What a cruel man. Why won’t he buy chocolate cookies?
I’m not cruel! I just refuse to buy a dozen bags of cookies a week for the little monsters Wombies.
Bwahahahahahaha. My sister and I made these mud cookies when we were kids. We didn’t eat them though.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
You missed out on half the fun! That might have been smart, though.
Chris should eat those mud cookie with a smile if he won’t get some at the store.
Maybe he should, but I don’t think he will.
That’s funny. Maybe he should locate a tester first. I don’t think they’re gonna go down too well. 🙂
That’s probably a wise idea. Would you like to volunteer?
My sisters used to make some stew out of crap in the yard. Guess who their taste tester was
I suppose it wasn’t that bad since you did survive. But I don’t envy you.
The effects are still questionable.
Perhaps the cause of your green hair?
Hahaha… I’ve tried that recipe before, too. 🙂
Maybe you can give Fraz some pointers.
Self raising mud maybe?
Is that available in the backyard?
I like to mix a little antacid right into the batter… just a little precautionary measure… and adds a little bit of color as well! 🙂
A bit of preventative medicine is probably a smart idea; it could also be used in a lot of other recipes, I’m sure.
I somehow think Fraz won’t have any worries about anyone else eating them on him.
Yay! More cookies for me!!
I categorically state that your cookies Fraz are better than Brussel Sprouts. Or Eggplant. Or Asparagus…
Are they better than mud, too? Oh wait, they are mud.
That mud looks like clay. And he’s going to put that in an oven? And eat them afterwards?!?
You should have seen the glaze Fraz had for them! Luckily, we Wombies have strong teeth. And stronger stomachs.
Blahaha, reminds me of the time when I was at high school and it was compulsory for both girls and boys to take cooking classes. Our first lesson was to bake a cake. When the teacher said to put in the eggs , flour and butter he threw in the eggs ,shell and all.
Mmmm, crunchy cake! I wonder if the eggs would explode if you baked them in the cake like that?
I would expect those cookies to have an earthy flavor!
I expect you are quite correct.
Ten points for being inventive, but I think the little fellow will be mighty disappointed with his cookies once he takes a bite.
If the moon is made out of cheese, the earth should be made out of chocolate, right?
Chocolate cookies are my favorite! I’ll take some… even it is made of mud 😉
You can have half of them!
Hmmm, well he’s got the colour right!
Yes, but unfortunately everything brown is not chocolate.
My daughters seem to have mastered the art of mud cookies, pies, cakes, dirt logs, pizza, and more. And not surprisingly, I’ve never tried ANY of them!
But you’re missing out on half the fun!
Here’s mud in yer eye…er….mouth! Life’s simple pleasures are the best!
Especially if you’re too young to know any better.
Go fix him a glass of muddy water and call it chocolate milk.
That’s an excellent idea! Why didn’t I think of that?
I hope you didn’t eat those cookies, Fraz!! That would taste worst than my poop 😉
I don’t think so!!
Since you are baking, can you make me a mud pie…
Sure! I just have a little trouble with the crust.
