I think it’s actually illegal to make bad cookies that’s why there are none in existence. I reckon you could make some really bad ones if you tried hard though. Raisin & fish cookies come to mind.
We could have a contest to see what would be the worst cookie imaginable. Raisins & fish would have to be up there. Maybe with a little snail & grasshopper.
Yes Binky I think that would be a most horrible combination especially if served by a hobo with orange and lime striped socks and yellow jelly bean sandals… Now that would be enough to put anyone off their cookies don’t you think? lol
A friend was recently lamenting the fact that girl scout cookies just don’t taste as good as they used to. People were speculating left & right as to WHY. My hypothesis? You take out the trans-fats and…
I haven’t had the pleasure of a GS cookie this year yet. I am hoping someone will bring home a box. (I should probably voice this to someone in order for this to happen – hahah)
I LOVE the peanut butter patty cookies. The ones with the round thin shortbread cookie, topped by PB and covered in chocolate. I like to scrape the stuff off the top with my big front teeth, then eat the cookie middle. OOOoh so good!!
A number of years ago (at least in Canada) they switched manufacturers and I thought the new ones weren’t nearly as good as the old ones. Perhaps they’ve changed again. . . Girl Guide cookies used to be the best.
I don’t think I’ve ever had that kind of peanut butter cookie, but now I want some!
It seems that some cookies like Fudgee-Os have shrunk over the years, but I don’t have any cookies from the past to confirm that. It may be just that I’ve gotten bigger. Or my appetite has.
I am pretty sure this strip is in reaction to the new Girl Scout cookies. Once they changed
all the names, the cookies just don’t taste as good? Fun strip – nice work! W.C.C.
Thanks, W.C. The strip wasn’t consciously about the new Girl Guide cookies. It was more of a general statement that when something is changed, and not necessarily for the better, it often doesn’t stop people from still buying/using/eating it.
Unless it has raisins in it. Then it is a bad cookie
I agree. Raisins in cookies should be illegal.
What about cookies in raisins would that be illegal, or just too silly? lol
I’m not sure. They would have to be itty bitty tiny cookies to be in raisins, so they might not be illegal then.
Great chefs started out this way.
The quest for a better cookie probably started many on the road to culinary greatness.
You know cookie crumbs have no calories?
I never knew that! The Wombies will be very happy to hear that.
*Wham!*Wham!*Wham!*
“Just what do you think you’re doing?”
“My doctor said I should eat less calories”
“So?”
“I’m turning all my cookies into crumbs!”
Sounds like it could be the start of a very popular diet.
The same goes for cookies filched from someone else’s plate
People better start guarding their cookies, then.
I can so relate. I’ve never had a bad cookie. I’ve had some that were better than others, but never a bad cookie.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
You’re absolutely right: there is no such thing as a bad cookie!
Hahaha – if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing well!
You can’t leave a box of cookies half-eaten… it just wouldn’t be right! 🙂
The Wombies would never dream of leaving any food half-eaten, especially cookies.
How about a plate of overcooked Brussels sprouts?
Brussel sprouts and broccoli do not count as food around here.

Yes, I think that could probably turn even the strongest stomach. That might even result in some cookie tossing.
I’m a cookie monster, so I’ll second that!
Cookie monsters of the world unite!
You can’t call them like that! You have to say “Om nom nom”! They only answer the call of their own kind!
“Om nom nom” monsters?
Okay, Om nom nom monsters unite!
They make a shortbread cookie in Vietnam that has a filling of garlic paste. I know it sounds hideous but it’s actually rather delicious. Seriously.
It doesn’t sound all that appealing, but sometimes strange combinations can be tasty.
the only time a cookie is not good is when you eat too many and get sick… and when there are raisins involved. 🙂
We agree 100%! Especially about the raisins. And moderation when eating cookies is probably a good thing, too.
Someone checking what you say for bad words and other objecionable content is a good thing when you have your mouth full of cookies?
Not that kind of moderation! Although if one has to be a moderator, having a mouth full of cookies would likely make the job more enjoyable.
Ha,ha,ha. good material.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, Cookies!
Mmm mmm mmm!!
Mmmmmm, I love cookies!
Great material Binky!
Thanks, Debbie. Cookie love is pretty universal.
Haha!
I can relate to that 🙂
Most of us are probably guilty of doing the same.
Not when the cookie is expired 😉
If the cookie is expired, that means you have to eat it very fast.
I can totally relate to that…or should I say (in my case) there are no bad vegetables 😉
Yes, cookies for turtles are probably a bad thing, so you can enjoy your vegetables instead. And perhaps some sweet fruits as well.
After I commented last evening I crushed a chocolate chip cookie and put it on my ice cream (cookie dough ice cream, that is.)
Apparently crushed cookies don’t have any calories, but I cannot guarantee that!
Hahahh!!

I’m sure cookies are a lot smaller now than they were in my youth 🙁
The cookies may be smaller, but that hasn’t prevent most people from becoming bigger.
I think the cookies nowadays are BIGGER than they were when I was a kid. But broken cookies don’t count so I always break them in half.
It seems that some cookies like Fudgee-Os have shrunk over the years, but I don’t have any cookies from the past to confirm that. It may be just that I’ve gotten bigger. Or my appetite has.
You should try my lemon and thyme cookies, they will rock yo’ world. lol
No doubt all of your deserts would!
Sometimes it takes me an entire bag to find out I don’t like something. I just gotta be sure. 😀
We cookie connoisseurs must sometimes make great personal sacrifices for the sake of our art.
The more raisins, the better!
@ Arts – Lemon and thyme? I guess I would have to try those since the combination sounds unusual. Should I send you my mailing address?
I knew someone out there must love raisins in their cookies.
I could mail you my extricated cookie raisins.
Aw… not the whole rasin cookie?
Unfortunately the cookie part of any raisin cookie that passes by me disappears quite quickly.

I really like this one Binky, and I would have eaten them all too, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, I could just eat some right now 🙂 Yum
Even a not-so-great cookie is a lot better than most other things. And if it’s a chocolate cookie, then it has to be good.
