Good grief, healthy shouldn’t mean tasteless. What about all the beautiful mueslis and porridge made with sultanas and milk/soy. Maybe you need to check out those supermarket aisles or your local deli and see what else is available! Healthy should never equal boring.
On the site where I work there is a government department that studies lifestyle and diet and every now and again they request volunteers to try out apples, bananas, avocados and such. So you have to do your bit for quality control – now that’s fun.
I agree, a nice bowl of winegums saturated in nice a chocolate syrup! or maybe some cocoa puffs with winegums on the side? poor Binky, Science has indeed gone crackers!
There have been so many studies on the health benefits of chocolate over the past few years, that I now consider it to be the health food of the century – and rightly so – go the researchers.
Also revealed in this study… fruit causes temporary blindness if consumed before lunchtime and is not a good breakfast at all. Best to stick with our cereal. Try new chocolate flavored!
I recommend crunchy raisin bran. It’s sweet, yummy, and best of all, crunchy. Oh yes, has 6 grams of fiber as well. Might taste great with added wine gums
I’m glad Binky finally said what I was thinking!!! So I only BUY the tasteless Grape Nuts, All Bran, and those shredded wheat squares WITHOUT the frosting. Then of course I proceed to dump a half cup of sugar on each bowl in the morning to EAT the stuff! Cute toon as always! W.C.C.
I think there was a study that showed kids eating the pre-sweetened cereal actually consumed less sugar, because they’d add even more sugar to the unsweetened kind.
Couple typos…”saturated” and “study’s”
I for one welcome this bit of evidence though as I am getting sick of my wife making me eat healthy tasteless cereal.
Typos? Typos are not allowed! Thanks for the heads up, Bearman.
I actually like the healthy tasteless cereal.

You’re right, of course; I was being a tad sarcastic.
Most of the time healthy equals expensive…and you had better read the label closely.
Healthy foods can be expensive, but unhealthy foods can be even more so in the long run.
I’m going to commission a study to look into whether study comissioning is good for you! 🙂
I hope it is good for me. I think.
This reminds me of the movie Thank You for Smoking. Only w/ breakfast cereal.
Yes, corporate science brings us many benefits.
The author is the 10th doctor on the 9 out of 10 panel. Ha,ha,ha!
He probably is!
14 out of 11 doctors have found in 9 out of 6 cases that eatin’ healthy foods will cause rusty stomach 7 out of 5 times.
Sounds like it’s time for some Pepto-Bismol!
Smoke and mirrors. That’s what we are fed all the time. Just saying.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Unfortunately I think that’s the case more often than not.
I think I can go along with that kind of study!
A lot of people would!
Hahaha…
science sounds… delicious!
I may have to conduct further studies, though… just to be sure, you know…
🙂
I’d like to do these studies, too, but no one ever gives me the chance!
On the site where I work there is a government department that studies lifestyle and diet and every now and again they request volunteers to try out apples, bananas, avocados and such. So you have to do your bit for quality control – now that’s fun.
I’d rather volunteer for the chocolate or wine gum studies, personally.
Whoever pays for the studies are surprisingly gonna win. 😀
Amazingly, that does seem to be the case.
You can’t trust a non-wombie certified scientist. What’s the wombies favourite breakfast?
The Wombies favourite breakfast is chocolate and wine gums. It’s also our favourite lunch, dinner, and supper. And our favourite snack, too.
that sounds very nutritious to me
It is! It feeds all my needs!
I agree, a nice bowl of winegums saturated in nice a chocolate syrup! or maybe some cocoa puffs with winegums on the side? poor Binky, Science has indeed gone crackers!
Mmmm. . . I just had breakfast, but now I’m hungry again!
I seem to recall a similar study being done on chocolate. They said the more chocolate you eat the healthier you become…
OK gotta go get healthy
Obviously that study was right. Chocolate makes a body strong.
There have been so many studies on the health benefits of chocolate over the past few years, that I now consider it to be the health food of the century – and rightly so – go the researchers.
There are no Wombies who will argue with that!
I have read that study with my own eyes! esp dark chocolate. So enjoy for 3 squares a day & a few snacks 😉
I will! I don’t need be be told that twice!
Also revealed in this study… fruit causes temporary blindness if consumed before lunchtime and is not a good breakfast at all. Best to stick with our cereal. Try new chocolate flavored!
The study sounds a tad suspicious, but I’ll buy the cereal!
Let me do some research and eat as many sugary cereals as I can, and then I’ll give you a second opinion, Binky.
I’ll help you with that research!
How’s about adding sugar to Fruit Loops….is that bad? Oh and using choc milk!!!
That works for me! And maybe a little extra maple syrup, too.
oooh yeah 🙂
I recommend crunchy raisin bran. It’s sweet, yummy, and best of all, crunchy. Oh yes, has 6 grams of fiber as well. Might taste great with added wine gums
And chocolate chips. You can’t forget the chocolate, which is an essential part of every good meal.
Most Doctors will just tell you … if it taste good.. spit it out.
I say if it doesn’t taste like chocolate, it’s not good for you!

I’m sure that study is in the works.
I’m sure it is, funded by guess who?
But the proof is in the sugar-coated breakfast cereal . . . and the popcorn. 😉

Sugar-coated popcorn would make a great breakfast cereal!
Science has been paid off. 🙂
In many cases it has been.
So many studies are guilty of this and really do a good job of hiding it!
And yes science has been hijacked. Sad. And scary.
Unfortunately, the objectivity of many studies is questionable, and as you say, oftentimes difficult to assess.
Soylent Green is the best cereal
Only if served with ketchup.
It will be a different recommendation tomorrow, you might want to choose that for break fast.
Yes, they’re always claiming something different is good for us.
Binky…don’t be too serious about it!! 😉
Maybe I should be like Winky and not worry about.
Funny stuff. I’m glad, that I dropped here by coincidence 🙂
Thanks, Sabina!
you welcome 🙂
YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!! Further reason why I should continue eating my sugar packed cereal! Thank you!!! 🙂
I’m not so certain you should believe that study!
