Impressionable Youth
The internet has changed many things, some of them not necessarily for the better.
Our great writer friend Andro drew a picture of Binky, Winky, Twink, and Fraz on the beach for a Christmas 2012 greeting.

Our great writer friend Andro drew a picture of Binky, Winky, Twink, and Fraz on the beach for a Christmas 2012 greeting.
Hope Binky, Winky, Twink, and Fraz all have a real summer holiday on the beach! 🙂
We’re planning to, but it’s still is chilly up here. I hope your spring is nicer than ours.
It’s freezing here too, I was scraping ice off the windscreen this morning… AGAIN grrrrr 🙁
It snowed here a couple of times last week. Just fluffy stuff that didn’t stay, but still! Winter needs to leave. NOW!
The economy is to blame too Fraz & Mister Chris. Wally said when he was a kid 2 cents worth of sweets would be enough to last you all day. Now I have to pay 4 bucks for a family sized block of chocolate & it doesn’t last me longer than 5 minutes & that’s if I eat slowly…
You need to visit Winky’s chocolate factory! All the chocolate is free! And really yummy!
I am always a regular in Winky’s chocolate factory, Deb makes the milkshakes and Wink and I drink them all so it’s good fun 🙂 The chocolate sandals take a bit of getting used to but you go-toga-et used to it I guess? 🙂
The sandals are only for emergencies! Like maybe you’re lost in the forest and starving. Then you can eat your sandals!
My inner child and the internet would have made my Mother’s life a living hell!
The challenges of parenthood are a lot different these days!
That’s a very good (and interesting) point! To tell you the truth I hadn’t really stopped to think about that…
🙂
The times they are a-changin’!
This one made me sad 🙁
It’s the ugly side of development
childhood should be about trees, sand, mud, puddles, playgrounds and comics and story books
sadly more and more are Google groomed and not nature groomed.
That’s very true. Even before Google and the internet, I think most people and kids have lost their connection to nature.
Don’t forget about the
chocolate fairy Soma 🙂 xxx
I never do!
Huge fan of Andro’s. Work
love him 🙂
Definietly!
Thank you Peter 🙂
🙂
Soma you are too kind, especially on this one but thank you very much my great friend 🙂 xxx
But just check out the tooth fairy’s twitter account!
The tooth fairy’s on twitter??
So is Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.
Really? I better follow them then!
Bwahahahahahahahaha. You can’t believe the Internet either.
Have a terrific first day of April. 🙂
Everything on the internet is true! Isn’t it?
As long as it is not a news agency or Wiki.
Everything on Wombania’s true, that’s for sure!
Fraz, when I was growing up I never saw even saw a computer that take you to those places.
I went outside to play games like hide-n-seek, tag, kick-the-can, king of the mountain, baseball, tag football, street hockey, tree climbing, and so much more. And if I wasn’t doing any of those things I was riding my bike all over. Heck, my mom only saw me at meals and curfew.
Maybe you can show me how to play some of those games! They sound like fun.
Sure, Fraz, any of them you like….Just take your pick!
I’ve been teaching my Wombies how to play so their not just eating and Googling all day long.
What’s wrong with eating and Googleing?
You need to get more exercise, Winky!
I guess it’s time to do you 100 Winky style situps….Each sit up counts as twenty…20, 40, 60, 80, 100. 🙂
I usually count by 100s. I think I can do one sit up.
my kind of situps, Deb!!
And you get a chocolate after each one!
Hmm, I think I could do one or two for that reward. :)…Okay, one then! 🙂
I like to do one, then have a box of chocolates!
Yeah, mine too.
About 15 years ago I could actually do 2000 by counting like that…lol Now, well, I sit up when I wake up…lol
I don’t even know if I could count to 2000!
Can you count how many milkshakes I got for you?
I bet I can drink them faster than I can count them!
We have new games in Wombania called Pancake Hop, Chocolate Tig, Marshmallow Patience, Spambo Wambo Burger Pogo Sticks and Candy Hoopla 🙂 I hope you will try them Deb? 🙂 xxx
I tried them all! Actually, I ate them all. Sorry.
Ah, Andro got the gang on the island! I think Twinks eyelashes are getting longer! 🙂
Love it!
I don’t think Twink will complain.
I wouldn’t either. 🙂
There is a big party planned for this weekend so I hope that everyone remembers to bring along their party hats 🙂
We will! I’ll bring all the chocolate!
very interesting how the same seems to be true, generation after generation… the facts/details may be different, but there’s always that GAP they speak of…
🙂
Things always change, though I think the internet has taken it to a much greater level than before.
No tooth fairy? Well, that’s news to me. Thanks for ruining my childhood :-/
She’s on Twitter!!
Yeah, but that twitter account is boring: https://twitter.com/toothfairy
I think that one might be fake! I like this one
http://twitter.com/#!/ToothFairy_Real
or this one
http://www.thesweettoothfairy.com/
Looks like no money for Fraz. Not the best time to say that about the Tooth Fairy.
I think I might believe in the tooth fairy again!
If the Internet had been handy in my childhood, I could have had much better arguments. As it was, I had to look things up in books to prove I was right.
You must have had one of those bad childhoods they tell us about in school.
Not so bad. The pet dinosaur was really cool for show and tell.
You had a pet dinosaur?? I’ve always wanted a pet dino!
Me, too, Red. I remember sometimes just being too lazy to look it up!!
LOL! I would do it for spite! *Mumbles “30-something arguing with a 9yo”*
Maybe I could hire you for backup next time!
Bookworms are always an asset unless they are jelly ones and then they just get eaten up before anyone can learn anything 🙂
They should make wine gum worms. They’d be extra yummy!
Oh it’s the ‘Tooth’ fairy – I kept looking up ‘TRUTH fairy’ and since it was the internet – nobody really knows what the truth is? W.C.C.
You should stay away from the truth. It can be dangerous!
I wonder how many children have ruined childhood by searching the internet. Sad commentary. Although, if you look on the internet, you will see that there really is a Santa Claus. He has his own website and everything!
Growing up today must be a very different experience then back when we were young. Hard to say what the long term consequences will be.
A word of warning…. hypochondriacs should never ever use the internet … just saying.
I’m not a hypochondriac! I just have a lot of problems!
Stay away from, as in far away from, WebMD.
I have that place bookmarked about a hundred times!
The end of innocence.
Unfortunately.
Internet can make children better or worse…it depends on how they use google and wikipedia 😉
I really like Fraz’s sarcasm answer… nice answer, Fraz 😉
I like the internet because I can find out about anything!
I bet you google how to make chocolate more than anything 😉
And how to make money!
OMG..what does he know about Santa and the Easter Bunny
I know they’re real! They bring me chocolate and presents!
I get some of those too, so it must be true 🙂
So do I!
Internet is dangerous. 🙂
But it can help you get what you want!
Only if you have a good credit card…
Or if you know where to borrow one from!
I will use yours Red 🙂 lol xxx
Can I borrow it after you’re finished with it?
Yea it doesn’t leave much to the imagination.
No, it doesn’t.
Another great cartoon as always Peter, especially the look on Chris’ face, the poor guy loses out every time 🙁 lol
Thanks, Andro. Yes, Chris is always on the losing end, poor guy.
You know…I really think it has 🙁
The thrill of looking through books to do research and to study..the wondering of wonders …to be able to imagine purely from your own imagination…..
I think the internet has changed things for all of us, but especially for the kids who have known nothing else.
I liked the old days when the comic section was called the Funnies
And when most of them were original and good!
Aahahahh 😀 Fraz has a point. But he shouldn’t say anything. When I was a child, the tooth mouse used to give me some money. 🙂 I was a good actress already. Ahah
You’re right. I shouldn’t have said anything!
Don’t look up Santa Claus…that’s all I’m sayin’ 😛
Why? Has he been naughty?
Er….yeah…that’s it. He’s been naughty. 😉
Does that mean I should leave him coal instead of cookies next year?
What if he hasn’t Wikipedia-ed sarcasm? Could be sincere!
With Fraz, I doubt it!
