Today’s comic strip has been preempted again to bring you another video from the Wombania archives. There’s a little more animation in this one, but not much. It was done as a parody of a trailer for a 50’s sci-fi film. Maybe one day this move will actually be made.

I’d love to learn how to do flash animation! I got really into iMovie on my computer at one point, seems I’ve lost any memory of it now.. So sad! Just not enough time in the day, I tells ya..

It’s a long and sorted story. Chris’s long-lost mad scientist uncle was, as a youngster, traumatized by vicious dog and vowed to create the world’s best pet. Years later he traveled the world looking for the best animal, and eventually choose the wombat. Through genetic engineering, he modified the wild wombat into the much more magnificent Wombie, but unbeknownst to him he contaminated their modified DNA with his own. Thus, Chris is actually related to the Wombies, though he will only reluctantly admit it.
Wow!!! That’s amazing. So does Chris have any Wombiefied super powers??? You never know what can happen with genetic engineering.
While the Wombies ended up with some human DNA mixed in with theirs, the humans (Dr. Franco and Chris) didn’t end up with any wombat DNA. But that is a great idea. What human couldn’t use a little improving? And there’s probably no better way to improve a human than to make him/her more wombat-like.

So would I, but a gang of wayward Wombies invading your home could be a bit overwhelming to some. Plus, your chocolate and wine gums would no longer be safe.

Jeez, I think I saw one at the bottom of my garden this morning – looks like the invasion has started (gulp)
Any advice as to what we should do if we encounter a wombie?
a. run like hell
b. kick the **** out of it
c. offer it a whisky and try to befriend it
d. pour oneself a large whisky (or two, or three) and get drunk
I don’t know what Binky would advise but I recommend picking it up & giving it a big hug

The best solution would be offer the Wombie some chocolate and wine gums, and then speak to him/her in a calm and gentle voice, saying something like, “Yes, I will obey you, great Wombie master.”
After that music I am not sure if I will have a peaceful sleep tonight 🙁
And those nightmares of the Wombies invading your home probably won’t help any, either.
Jeezers, Chris!! Was it really such a shock to find out that wombies are really a relative or was that just a normal reaction when he hears that relatives are coming for a long stay? ( the 2nd would be my reaction, hehee)

For most people I think it would be rather unsettling to find out you were related to a line of genetically modified talking wombats. And then having the Wombies invade your home would probably be enough to put you over the edge.

There probably are, considering the state of the world these days, and considering how many would-be actors are looking for work. Even Wombie work.
