Maple Syrup Forever
The promise of spring after a long cold winter is enough to bring out the Wombie in all of us. And powered by maple sugar, that little sap can run.
Binky took a little run, too, and ended up on the moon in Debbie Adams’ picture of Binky on the Moon. But he’s back now with enough dark-side-of-the-moon-chocolate for all. Everyone’s invited to the party! Just be sure to bring your appetite.
I like Maple Syrup but I don’t think I could go for that much of it. Sickly…
We are into Autumn now so your down under cousins will be preparing their burrows for winter. You know, installing central heating, stocking their pantrys with winegums & chocolate to see them through.
It’s always important to prepare for winter. Around here, we’re preparing for spring and Winky is getting his annual maple syrup fill-up.
That can’t be good for his sugar levels.
I think it’s good for my sugar levels! It makes them as high as they can be!
I fell in love with maple syrup when I lived in Canada
Pancakes with ice cream and maple syrup – can’t beat it !!!
That sounds good! I think I need to find some pancakes and ice cream to wash down all that syrup.
It’s a little too sweet for me. but chocolate….. can never have enough chocolate.
How about chocolate maple syrup?
So how far do you get to the gallon????
I’d say about 50 Wombie-sized pancakes.
Yes you just cannot beat Maple Syrup and a trip to the Darker side of the Moon, it just goes hand in hand, or in Winky’s case from tree to open mouth 🙂
Yeah, from tree to tree to dark-side-of-the-moon chocolate. Weee!!
Now that has gotta be the sugar rush of all sugar rushes!
It’s pretty good! Pretty good! Yeah, pretty good.
Oh wow!…that is a sugar rush! Go for the chocolate you Sap…I mean Winky.
I’m here to get my first serving of chocolate from Binky’s moon run. Binky has been mining for chocolate on the moon all weekend.
I’m ready Binky…hit me with it!
Thank you for the plug….You really do look good on the moon Binky…You’re a natural.
I like to think of the moon as my natural habitat.
Maybe you can set up a housing area up there for all of us to go up there…I might get started on the diagrams for the house for you.
Dink, you Bingo Head, you forgot to log out when I said that to Binky!
I like the idea of a moon colony. Perhaps we could build some of it in the chocolate mines. That would help with the radiation shielding.
What radiation shielding?
Also,
I have an award for you if you should decide to accept it.
Guidelines are here.
http://ahopefortoday.com/2012/01/14/hope-unites-globally-hug-award-guidelines/
my post is here
http://adamsart.wordpress.com/2012/03/12/hope-unites-globally-hug-award/
Hugs, xx
There’s dangerous radiation in space, and consequently on the moon since it has no atmosphere, so proper radiation shielding must be employed if one intends to stay there for any length of time.
I didn’t know that. Well, I guess we’ll just have to do a bit of lab work in your beach house to make sure you have everything you need to be safe when you take your trips there.
That would be good as we don’t want to be irradiated.
I appreciate being nominated for the award, Deb, but I’m not very good at following through on the requirements.
Just take it anyway if you like…You deserve it.
I say you can. After all, it was mine to give.
Yes especially with all that dark matter around, I wonder how much chocolate is actually out there Binky? 🙂
My calculations show that there should be enough dark chocolate out there to last us at least another hundred years.
Excellent then we need to start collecting more of it on the next trip 🙂 Perhaps Fraz can do his first Chocolate Moon Walk? 🙂
I think we should be able to collect the dark-side moon chocolate for a very long time. Fraz will have to be watched carefully if we take him since he has a tendency to wander off.
Don’t worry I have an R2D2 lookalike that will look after Fraz and odd as it may seem he likes chocolate too so how about that for a bit of competition? 🙂
That should work out well. A chocolate-powered robot? I should have thought of that!
The party has begun! We have enough dark-side-of-the-moon chocolate for everyone, so grab all you want.
Oh Good, I’ll have a pound…that ought to get me through most of the day. I brought enough napkins for everyone chocolate drool.
Maybe Andro will bring some chocolate milk for us. If not, I go get some. Dink has lots in the fridge.
Yes, that sounds good. Hopefully Andro can make it here before the good food start to run out.
He’ll make it. Maybe save him a pound or two just in case it’s real late.
I’m guarding a big chunk of darkside chocolate just for Andro, so he can have it whenever he has time to drop by.
Right well I will have some of that right now and while I am chewing it over why don’t we make some more pancakes, I really do like a bit of maple syrup on pancakes Fraz 🙂
Sounds good to me! But they won’t let me make pancakes by myself, so you’ll have to help.
No problem Fraz you mix the pancakes and I will flip them in the pan, then once we have about twenty of them we can sit down and eat them all 🙂 Yum
We’ll go to bed with a full tummy tonight!
Hiya Binky…I’m here for a crap load over chocolate…I worked up quite an appetite for after clearing the landing field from your landing and getting your rocket back in the lab for later inspections.
Thanks, Dink. You’ve earned your darkside chocolate!
Anything I can do to help you for your important moon missions Uncle Binky!….Especially when it involves chocolate…Yum! I’ll take a dozen for now…that ought to last me 5 minutes.
Pace yourself, Dink, pace yourself!
I didn’t read what you said till I ate it all….can I have some more…I’ll try to pace myself this time…I will try anyway.
Yes, you can have more moon chocolate. But, believe it or not, even a Wombie can eat too much chocolate in a day. Hard to believe, but it’s true.
Wow we learn something new here every single day but I would never have thought that a Wombie could eat too much chocolate, but it is still a lot of fun and enjoyment testing the limits 🙂
I like to test how much chocolate I can eat every day!
Hi Binky…Glad you had a safe return. May I have a piece of chocolate please?…Nah…I want more that a piece please.
You can have all you want, Tink.
Thanks Binky!…don’t mind if I do…I’ll start with a 1/2 dozen pieces and come back for some more later….thank you!
This moon chocolate is pretty good, isn’t it?
Yes it is very delicious, Binky! I’m taking my time eating it…letting each piece savor in my mouth. Unlike my piggy brother. But I would like more this evening if I may.
Of course! Eating it slower is better, but that’s hard for some of us Wombies to do.
Oh my, look at all the marsupials that have come out of the woodwork the moment you mention chocolate!!!
Chocolate is hard to resist, especially for us Wombies.
Lol, lol, lol. good one, Loon!
Yes and a couple of Loons, well you are definitely one of them so I must be the other 🙂
Chocolate always attracts the best people!
Yes and with all these Loons knocking around we are sure to find some fruit Cakes too I bet? 🙂
I wouldn’t be surprised!
Yes, it has, and has been all day to eat like a the little lady wombie that I am, but I think I need a few more pieces before I go to bed. Dink ate all his already again.
Don’t snitch on your bother like that, Tink. I’ll have a talk with you later why this is bad.
You can both have all the chocolate you want, but try not to make a mess for mommy.
Ah, there good little Wombie…I can’t complain. They are both learning at rapid rates…they’re pretty smart. Dink is a bit more obsessed with chocolate like Winky, but that’s okay. There is plenty here for them. But they just had to have that moon chocolate you traveled so far for, mining all weekend in all. It was quite tasty…thank you.
I’m glad your Wombies had a good time. There’s still some moon chocolate left, so they can have more if they want.
Hi Binky,
Winky…you Sap Head…Binky has chocolate.
BTW Binky…Were you able to find me a moon rock shaped like a bone for me?…and moon cheese?
I couldn’t find any moon cheese, but I was able to secure a good selection of moon rocks, so you can have your pick.
Thank you Uncle Binky! Now I have one of my own. I can’t wait to find place to bury it when I’m not chewing it…I don’t chew too much.
Well hopefully the moon rock bones aren’t too hard for you. We wouldn’t want you damaging your teeth.
Mommy is going to take me to the Vet in Hatteras when we get there to have him look at my teeth since I’m due for shots. But I love my bone…I been licking, and licking, and licking. Had to growl at Cici once when she approached me with it.
I know, bones can be pretty personal for dogs. But try not to fight over if. We don’t want either of you to get hurt or get in trouble.
Hi Uncle Binky!
Do I get a moon bone too…I will share with Cassie.
I’m glad you got back safely. I will go with you next time because I have a fierce growl and can scare the chocolate monsters….k
You can have your own moon rock, Cici.
Next time I head for the moon, I’ll be sure to take you. Those moon chocolate monsters were rather fierce.
I’ll scare them moon chocolate monsters, Binky…I have a very fierce growl…just ask my mommy and the pest control man…even daddy. And I only weigh 2.6 lbs too.
I’ll be ready and mommy says I can go… she says always saying, “Cici, I’m going to send you to the moon!”…hehe
I didn’t realize you were that small! Nevertheless, you sound like you’d make a good space guard dog.
Oh yes, I’m very tiny. My legs are as small as mommies smallest fingers. I’ll ask her to show a Pic sometime with my legs near her hand.
I make a real good guard dog…ask mommy. But I know you believe me.
I wasn’t going to take Cassie’s bone…I just wanted to smell it. I have my own that you gave me….she’s so sensitive….thank you Uncle Binky!
It’s probably best if you each stick to your own bones so there won’t be any fights. It’s good that you seem to be all better from your recent illness.
Yes I am also pleased to see that Cici is a lot better and the way he is sniffing at your chocolates I think he needs the doggie alternative as those would just make him feel rather poorly 🙁
Or maybe some Milkbones.
The Vet just won’t allow me to have anything at all except my prescription food, except ice chips.
It’s tough being on a strict diet. Hopefully you’ll be completely better in a little while and then you can have some treats.
I’m a girl Uncle Andro!…Don’t you know your own doggie neices?
I’m better, but I’d be better if I could have some of the human chocolate…for a little while anyway.
I’m asking mommy to get a picture of me wearing pink of nothing. Everyone thinks I’m a boy because of the dumb blue tee shirt on the beach.
It does get confusing sometimes! I think that’s why most of the girl Wombies wear bows in their hair.
Ye my keyboard refue to add the letter ”
well either that or I got a bit confued:(
No S’s were hurt in this comment 🙂 lol
My keyboard can be tricky *oemtime*, too!
We have the ame one’ that is for ure 🙂
Hahaha…
Winky’s doing tree stands, I see!
🙂
I never met a maple tree I didn’t like. Especially during maple syrup season!
Or even in Chocolate Pancake season also 🙂
I never met a pancake I didn’t like, either!
Me neither 🙂
Sap running early can be taken two ways. 🙂 Tis the season for maple syrup!
Taken two ways? What do you mean??
Yes I wonder what George means? I bet it’s something good to eat though Winky 🙂
I hope so, too! Though for some reason, I’m not all that hungry right now.
That’s a pity because I have a box full of chocolate bars here with your name on it 🙂
I think I might be hungry again!
Straight from the tap. With a chaser.
It’s kinda weak from the tree, but I make up for it by drinking a few gallons.
Winky… are you high?
I’m just maple powered!
SUGAR! SUGAR! SUGAR!!!! lol someone’s hyper!
Hyper? I’m not hyper. Really. I’m not. Not at all. Nope. Not me. I just need another tree.
Come on over to my house Winky…we have lots of maple trees…we’ll suckm’ dry!
I’ll be right over!! I think most of the trees around here need some time to recover from my maple syruping.
Another tree another yummy session, I bet those trees are getting wise to your style of maple syrup tapping Winky 🙂
Well the trees haven’t run away from me yet!
I see a tummy ache in the making, but we are all ready for spring.
Love Binky on the moon very much.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Maple syrup spring season is here! Yay!!
Binky should take me to the moon next time he goes.
Shouldn’t you have some pancakes to go with that syrup?
I do! First I drink as much maple syrup as I can, then I soak it all up by stuffing myself with pancakes. It’s my start-of-maple-syrup-season tradition!
That’s a great idea Winky, maybe we could all play throw the pancake? It’s a bit like throwing a frisbee but pancakes are much better than Frisbee’s because we can eat them afterwards 🙂
Any sport where you can eat is my kind of sport! We’d have to have a lot of pancakes, though, since they’ll be disappearing fast.
No but some of them are branching out a little I think? 🙂
The trees, or the pancakes?
I just had a great idea! We should make a tree that grows pancakes!
Yes well I have heard of an Ham Bush so perhaps there is a Pancake tree out there waiting to be discovered? 🙂
I think a Pancake Tree is definitely worth looking for!
I just had some maple syrup on my eggo’s! YUM!
Mmm, now I need some Eggos to go with all that syrup.
Gross, Winky!
Sorry, Joyce! Look away, look away!
No matter how much I love maple syrup on my pancakes, chocolate is still the best sugar rush! You can always eat chocolate anytime, anywhere, unlike maple syrup 🙂
You can get those maple sugar candies, but they’re not as good as chocolate. At least I don’t think so.
Haha! I mapelsyrup never sounded so good. Love the painting.
Binky looks like he belongs on he moon.
Maple Syrup comes out tress like that? Where can I purchase one of these?
It’s kind of a weak sap, really. But if you drink enough of it. . .
Lucky Winky 🙂 I’ve never tried maple syrup :/ But I guess, that it’s some kind of drug regarding your reaction 😉
Poor Sabina! You need to visit Wombania where we have millions of maple trees and you can have all the maple syrup you want!
I see, that I’ll have to come there 🙂 To happy land 🙂
You just need to bring your appetite!
You drink that much sugar straight from the tap and your likely to be riding a sugar high for days.
Or a week or two! If I’m lucky!
I love this one! Hooray Spring!
I think they should rename Spring and call it Maple Syrup Season!
I love Maple Syrup! 🙂 I’m gonna get me some pancackes.
Pancakes are what maple syrup was made for! Or maybe it was the other way around.
Yes like the chicken and the egg 🙂
I guess it doesn’t matter, though, since they go together so well!
Yes and there are no feathers to watch out for on the pancakes so that’s a lot better me thinks? 🙂
A lot of things go well on pancakes, but not feathers!
watch him folks he’s got a sugar high.
Maple syrup supercharges me!
Lived in northern Michigan for seberal eyas. Making one’s own maple syrup was a religion there. Heard that the weather this year hurt the production 🙁
How can I make my Swedish pancakes without real maple syrup along with the lemons?
Signed,
Some Maple-free Gal in Reno
You need to come visit Wombania where the maple trees grow forever and the sap runs free!
Hey sap-tender! Another round, please!
The maple taps never close around here!
Glug! Glug! I too find it hard to resist.
Don’t resist, enjoy!
Yes Indrani you need to eat them and not resist the temptation 🙂
I would love to be a tree surgeon, but I can’t stand the sight of sap!
I’m not afraid of sap. I’m only afraid of running out of sap.
Isn’t it fall where the wombies live??
Our group of Wombies live in North America. Other Wombies live all over the world, including Australia.
Yes Bearman and the Wombies always fall for those pancakes, it’s just one part of their cravings for sweet desserts 🙂
I’m like a bloodhound! I can smell a pancake from a mile away!
I must look up the elusive Canadian Wombat..haha
We like to hang out in chocolate shops.
yay! it’s that time of year again!
Yep, Maple Syrup Season!
Let it flow.
Right into my mouth!
Yeah, that would be a mad sugar high right there.
I completely agree with your title, btw, being Canadian myself 🙂
Canada has the best maple syrup!
Can we dip chocolate in maple syrup! have you tried this? MMMM
Hey, I love Deb’s Moon over Binky!!!
That sounds yummy! I’ve got to try that!
Next time, I want to go to the moon, too!
nom nom nom!
Glug glug glug! I’m drinking green maple syrup for St. Patrick’s Day!
Does syrup really come out of that tree?? How cool!!
Btw, Bink…that painting of you by aunty Deb reminds mommy of an old song called Fly me to the moon 🙂
What comes out of a maple tree is actually kind of weak maple-sugar water. But if you drink enough of it. . .
And I finally made it to the moon in Deb’s painting, too!
Hmmm Maple Syrup… Always have some in my fridge.
Hmmm now I’m hungry. It makes me want to eat pancakes.
There’s no better use of maple syrup than on pancakes!
