Thinking Out Of The Box
It might be easier to think out of the box when you’re sitting inside one.
Wombie momma Debbie Adams along with her husband, Mitch, made a large addition to their island residence to provide their adopted Wombies with a twelve-bunk bedroom of their very own. You can read all about it over on Debbie Adams’ Art Blog.
Lucky Binky didn’t try putting a square Wombie into a round hole…just saying!!!
Most Wombies are quite round, actually.
So, did you have any bright ideas?
My ideas are usually luminous.
So are you the one leading those secret Illuminati groups?
I used to think outside the box, but it got cold, so I went back in.
Boxes are like burrows. They can be very comforting.
That will be my excuse from now on. Thanks, Spencey!
Looks like he is boxed in
Aren’t we all?
Not me at least, I’m an outsider
Sometimes it’s good to be different.
So that’s how you do that. Bwahahahahahahaha. Go figure.
Love the bunk beds. That’s awesome.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
It’s good to have some peace and quiet when thinking.
😀 Clever Binky.
xx
It helps get my creative juices flowing.
Binky, get out of that box…you look like a puddy cat in there!
Oh, the indignity!
Opps, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, Binky. I was trying to help you. I guess I goofed. I guess I’ll go stick my head in the sand a while. 🙁
That’s all right. Perhaps I should find a more suitable thinking apparatus.
No, that’s okay, your fine.
I brought you a box of electrical parts and wire from my attic and a chocolate milkshake. 🙂
That should help stimulate some new ideas. Thank you, Deb.
Your welcome, Binky!
🙂
I really like the artwork of all three panels. Something to do with the lighting in the attic I think….looks great!
The lighting effect was supposed to be that of a single bare bulb hanging from the ceiling, creating a pool of light.
You certainly accomplished that with flying colors!…It looks great!
Thanks, Deb. This is a very old one. I probably spent more time on lighting back then.
Then it is really worth of praise just because you worked hard on it.
The earlier cartoons took me ages to produce, and often included more elaborate backgrounds. Then I wised up and made them generally as simple as possible.
I would mind getting things done a bit quicker. I’ll have to get with you on that sometime.
It helps! Plus for newspapers, since comic strips are often printed very small, simple or non-existent backgrounds usually work better.
I’ve been doing a lot of not existent backgrounds, as I’m sure you know…it does save a lot of time.
It does! And a lot of times people don’t even notice. We can tell ourselves it helps to improve the visual effect by lessening extraneous distractions.
It sounds like a good theory to me.
Me too!
Okay Wombies, I got fresh sheet and blankets on the spare bunks and school is out down here…So come on over and lets start having some summer fun. And Fraz’s beach house is right across the road…he’s got all the cool stuff too!
Yay! I’m ready for school to be over!
Get your beach buggy greased up..it’s time to have some fun!
It’s about time it’s time!
I just left your beach house. I restocked the fridge and turned on the ac to cool the house down too.
Bring some pizza over there from your Pizzeria…it’s always the right time for those!
I will! And some milkshakes too! And Winky is coming over with lots of chocolate! I hope you can make it over too!
I’ll be there all ready to have fun, and I’ll bring my Wombie clan with me!
Yay! We need a Wombie party!
No better day for it than today…It’s Friday!…Hay!
Another pirate party weekend! Yay!!
I think you should treat yourself to a new pirate sword with your milkshake earnings too!
I could use a new sword! A real fancy one with a gold handle like a lion!
And don’t forget to get a new eye patch. Last years got faded from the sun.
I could get one with gold on it to match my sword!
That’s a great idea, Fraz, Maybe we can even get you a gold pistol.
One of those old style pirate type pistols!
Thank you for posting my Wombies new bedroom!
You’re welcome, Deb. It’s a very nice room for all your Wombies.
Thank you.
And yours too. I only have 5 so there’s lots of room.
I don’t think you’ll have to worry about filling the extra spaces.
There’s always room, even it they have to double up. ; ):)
We can sleep on the floor in sleeping bags, too!
I’d have wall to wall Wombie carpet!
Yep! And we can sleep outside too if it doesn’t rain!
There is wear I draw the line…There’s snakes out there. But you can on the beach with our tents.
Snakes are cool! Well maybe Winky doesn’t think so. But I do!
Some can be harmful to you, Fraz….so no sleeping outside on the ground….just at your beach house on the ocean side.
OK.
Hahaha… know I know who to bring with me the next time I have to brave an attic!
In a place like that my bulb is always a bit too dim for my liking!
🙂
The attic can be a goldmine of ideas if you can brave the dust.
You are a real bright spook
Binky, I mean a bright spark 🙂
Which can be dangerous when working around solid rocket propellent.
Especially the Fraz
designed Zombie Stoppers 🙁 Eek
Yes, those ones are exceedingly unstable.
🙁 You are telling me
Just make sure you don’t fall asleep in there, and accidentally get shipped to Abu Dhabi.
That would definitely be a rude awakening.
I thought that in order to think outside the box, you’d have to get out of the box first. My bad. 😛
I was thinking out of the box in the same way one might eat cereal out of the box.
You were certainly chewing it over for sure 🙂
Nibbling some wine gums gets the creative juices flowing.
I will have to try that idea 🙂
I definitely recommend it.
It works, I just tried out
your theory 🙂 Thank you Binky
You’re welcome, Andro. Perhaps now you can be inspired to make some wine gum art.
Boxes can be quite alluring and full of ideas, esp for fun!
Boxes certainly can be a great inspiration.
Are thinking how to get out of the box? You shouldn’t be put in the box like Howard Moon 😉
No, I wasn’t stuck in the box. I was just trying to get away from everyone. Did they put Howard in a box against his will?
Nah…Howard can’t be put in a box…unless by a green old Cockney 😉
You can always go to your room and lock it, that’ll keep everyone away
I usually do my thinking in my basement lab, but I thought a different perspective might be inspiring.
People like to walk in the park to get inspiration…ever done that Bink?
I don’t know about our Binky but I certainly have Miss. Novia 🙂 Hey, have a lovely day and wonderful evening 🙂 xxxx
I prefer nature walks to get away from people. They often stare at me. Or run away.
Great idea Binky.
I thought so!
He might discover the elusive cardboard particle!
It’s an advanced concept, but I’m working on it.
Brilliance cannot be contained by mere cardboard!
Cardboard is no match for brainpower.
I am now sitting in a box thinking about what to comment. 🙂
It’s the most efficient way to generate new ideas.
Half expected a kitty to pop out and not Binky! Ooooooh your attic looks haunted. Dig that effect 🙂
The attic is haunted. By Wombies! You may have the same problem.
It would explain the wine gums replacing the planchettes on my Ouija board collection. Those sneaky little devils.
I’d rather have Wombies in the belfry than bats!
Wombies are probably preferable to bats, though I doubt the bats would steal your chocolate. My Wombies aren’t into Quija boards, so I don’t have to worry about that.
A very nice interior design for all the adopted Wombies.. but why they are thinking to come out of the box. Visit Heritage Thiruneermalai
Thinking in the box gives me a new perspective on things.
If someone wants to hang out in an attic, it’s better off to just leave them alone. 😉
I wish some others would follow your advice.
At least he’s sleeping.
He was probably sleeping after all that thinking power, more than likely snoring away too 🙂
I was not sleeping! Well, perhaps a brief nap.
Don’t worry Binky, during your brief nap Winky, Fraz and I made you some rocket shaped chocolates 🙂
That was very thoughtful of you!
Yes we saved you one 🙂 lol
Only one? Well I suppose Winky was involved.
I meant to write thinking, which I’m obviously not doing because I’m off for the summer.
http://joycelansky.blogspot.com
Yes, that definitely makes more sense. I didn’t think I was sleeping.
I thought everyone did their thinking sittin’ in a box in the attic. I really don’t find it strange at all.
Neither do I. Though some people obviously do.
Just to clarify, I do mine sitting in a rocker on the front porch but there is not a lot of difference if you ask me.
A rocker on the front porch sounds relaxing, though I have neither a rocker nor a porch. So I guess I’m stuck with thinking in the attic.
Thinking out of the box, now this is
definitely a Binky in creative mode 🙂
I like this cartoon a lot Peter, it’s brilliant 🙂
Thanks, Andro. This is a very early cartoon, number four to be exact.
That tells me that from day one you talent for making us laugh is second to none 🙂
I always enjoy your cartoons Peter
they are truly brilliant 🙂 Thank you
You are always too kind, Andro! But I appreciate the compliments.
This is another brilliantly painted Wombie art by our Deb isn’t it Peter? 🙂 Her work is always so excellently portrayed too, which adds to her many qualities as an artist 🙂
Yes, Deb’s work is always great to see.
Wow Binky that’s real cool. May I invite you for a guest-lecture on ‘How to think out of the box’?
I am sure the students and the Professors of our college would love it 🙂
I would be honoured, Dilip. Though I would have to prepare something appropriately inspiring.
And the kids would love to share their chocolates with you 🙂
I’m making this a priority!
I think that I will tag along seeing as we are all sharing your chocolates, I mean our chocolates 🙂 lol
I could probably use some help in staging the rocket demonstrations.
I will get some of the Zombies
strapped into the pilot’s seat 🙂
You’d better strap them in tight.
Out of the box is the smartest way to be.
I believe so.
Sometimes my brain’s inside a box upon a shelf.
I think a better place for it would be inside your head.
There needs to be a box before you think outside of it!
Yes, and the bigger the box, the better.
I do my best thinking out of the box when I have a FULL box of Fruit Loops! W.C.C.
A full box of treats definitely makes the thinking much more productive!
I really need to get myself one of those boxes to think out of
I would definitely recommend it.
Thank you for adding my Zombie Chat video to your side bar Peter, I had not seen that there until you mentioned it to me but thanks my great friend 🙂 Today it is throwing it down Zombies and Ghouls but at least it is still a warm day, which is definitely more acceptable after a long winter 🙂 Okay time for some more of deb’s chocolate and marshmallow milkshakes I think 🙂
You’re welcome, Andro. You always do so much to promote my Wombies!
Today was very hot, 31 and humid. It had rained for a few days, so it was a nice change.
It still needs to get hotter here but I must admit the sunshine is a welcomed sight 🙂
The sun and heat are a nice change.
Apparently, Binky couldn’t think INSIDE the box! 🙂
I prefer to think out of the box while in the box!
Well this just goes to show how excellent your cartoons are, I mean from the beginning to the present day your jovial offerings are giving everyone that reads them a really big giggle and that is definitely worth all the time and effort that you offer in creating them 🙂 I always wonder what you will add next and I am never disappointed either 🙂
You are too kind, Andro. But I’m glad you still find the comic strips amusing.
Always my great friend 🙂 🙂
🙂
LOL Looks more like he’s thinking out of a box..teehee
I was thinking out of the box out of the box.
Were there any winegums in the box???
Suffice it to say there are no wine gums in the box anymore.
Mmm…Were they juicy?
Quite. I think I may need to aquire some more.
You mean now? Okay, you can have some of mine.
Thank you Deb.
Well I can’t blame you for that. Oh, guess what. I happen to have a bag of them right here. 🙂
Thank you, Deb. You know how to treat a Wombie.
Yes we always enjoy
your special treats Deb 🙂 xxxx
You get a large spambo, wambo burger with a larger order of fries…well, so does Binky.
I could use one about now seeing as rocket engineering is difficult work.
I do my best, Binky! 🙂
Which is very very good!
Aw, thanks Binky! 🙂
🙂
Interesting interpretation 🙂
I think Binky’s just weird sometimes.
Every time I sit in a box, someone ships me somewhere. I should probably stop doing that at the post office.
Though it could be an economical way to see the world.
