TV Remote
Technology has many hidden secrets that most people fail to grasp.
American artist Debbie Adams painted Binky a spaceship so he could get to the moon to mine some very rare moon chocolate in time for Easter. Moon chocolate comes in both dark, and white. You can read about Binky’s trip on Debbie’s Binky’s Flight 2014 to the Moon post on her art blog.
There’s a front panel??? Now I gotta go check ours. What time & channel is Space Puppies from Mars on? I wanna watch it
Yes there’s one on mine too, it’s funny because on the Hitachi large screen I figured the remote was the only source, but no there are buttons on the front but hidden. Hmm… What will they think of next is right 🙂 lmao
I think they hide the buttons just to be mean!
I didn’t know the tv had a front panel either!
Space Puppies is on every day at 7:30 in the morning!
I’ve never seen that show Fraz, maybe next time I will watch it with you while we eat our pancakes and maple syrup 🙂
I know you’ll like Space Puppies! It’s cool!
Hey Binky, I thought I was funding the Moon trip??? Looks like Deb has it covered so I can withdraw my funding & save lottsa money now
This was a different trip. You’re funding my return mission because you’re a very kind and generous human.
He has always been generous Binky 🙂
Yes, and even more so now that he’s funding my trip.
I think many of us have taken more time searching for a remote than just changing the channel on the TV.
I think remotes like to play hide and seek!
Wow I almost made it three in a row but never mind, Tony gets the Chocolate 1st Prize Trophy so that’s cool 🙂
Great cartooning as always Peter, I really like this one my great friend 🙂 Have a superb Monday 🙂
I guess you’ll have to settle for second place this time, Andro. Maybe on Thursday you can regain your lead.
Yes I will be trying for 1st place tomorrow morning, shhhhhhhhhhhhhh don’t tell our great friend Loon and Tony or they might rush over here and collect the prize 🙂
I won’t tell them. You can hide out behind the logo and be ready to pounce at 5:00 am your time.
I like Debbie’s painting and by the look of Binky’s face, he is enjoying his Space Ship 🙂
I wonder how much chocolate he found? 🙂
Nice one Deb 🙂 xxxx
Thank you, Andro!
….er, I don’t know, Better ask Binky.
🙂 xxx
I found a virtually unlimited supply of moon chocolate, but because of weight restrictions on my spaceship I was able to bring back only 1.2 tons.
You’re welcome Deb,
I always like your awesome
ideas for the Wombies 🙂
Andro xxxx
Your sweet, Andro! 🙂 xxx
Oh my, tv buttons are so primitive…and easy to forget about.
They’re easy to forget about especially when you don’t know about them!
Mine were hiding too Fraz 🙁
I think they like to be sneaky!
Thank you for posting Binky in his space ship, Peter!
You’re welcome, Deb. It’s always a pleasure.
Ha, ha! You’d be amazed… 😉
And I was!
Bwahahahahahahaha. I can remember television without remotes, and you had to turn them on five minutes before you watched something. Took that long to warm up. Then at the end of the broadcast day there was that test pattern. Gosh I’m old.
Have a fabulous day. 🙂
I remember all that too. And only 13 channels. Well I guess 12, actually. When UHF came along, all those additional channels were amazing.
Yes me too Comedy Plus 🙂 lol
Hey Binky do ya need help to look for dark chocolates on the dark side of the moon?
I could use an additional miner astronaut, but the spaceship quarters are rather cramped.
Sadly many new tvs dont have the buttons so you are screwed if you lose the remote.
Really? I thought all of them still had buttons hidden along the top or bottom of the frame.
Mine is like that, they aren’t in a compartment they are actually on the front interface but you have to look really close to find them 🙂 Some are positioned on the side of the TV these days too 🙂
Hey it’s like one of those high-tech shows calling in here today, everyone offering their support on button hunting skills 🙂 Yaaaaay
This cartoon was made quite a few years ago when the buttons were typically under a concealed front panel. I think most of the buttons now, if the TV has them, are on the back edge of the frame and just out of sight.
Ah yes. My folks bought one of the first remote TV’s ever and it worked on the sound of the click. So you could change the channels by rattling a chain if you couldn’t find the remote.
I remember the sound activated remote ones too, though I never had one.
And some of those buttons are hard to find.
They do that to make you mad!
Wow! That’s a cool invention. I’ll have to remember it the next time I can’t find the remote.

I wish someone told me about it before!
Hi Joyce hope you are
having an exciting Wednesday 🙂
Oooo, this TV is all fancy-like!
That’s because it’s so old!
Too much tech, not enough fingers!
Chocolate fingers? I like them!
Hey, Fraz, I wish I could say that I don’t remember the buttons on the t.v. but I do vividly! 🙂 And Binky’s spaceship is awesome, but then again, anything Deb paints is nothing less!
Chris says long long ago tvs only had buttons and no remotes! I dunno if I believe him.
Chris is right, Fraz..there was a time when we lived without t.v. remotes and would you believe, cell phones, too? I know…just imagine. 🙂
I can’t imagine that! That must have been when the dinosaurs were around!
Pretty much and they were amazing! 😀
It would’ve been awesome to see the dinosaurs in person!
It was super awesome, Fraz, and now you know my age! Heehee
I bet you’re still not as old as Chris though!
I think you’re right, Fraz! 😀
I think Chris probably is a dinosaur. Or maybe a caveman!
Hi Lauren, how’s
your week going 🙂
It’s going well, thanks, Andro! Hope yours is, too! 🙂
What is Fraz’s favorite show?
Space Puppies From Mars! It’s really cool!
We are all going to watch it together next time Dave so bring your popcorn and wine gums, gummy bears and pancakes 🙂
Dave is weird he likes gummy bears better than wine gums!
Hahahaha…it’s the other way around Fraz…firt the buttons then the remotes. Go ask your history teacher
Really? That’s weird!
Hey Miss. Novia we will ask you instead 🙂
Hahaha…if you ask me I might sound a bit too much like Binky…I will use a lot of electromagnetic waves term.
Where Chris. I have to tell him something.
Oh-oh. This sounds ominous.
I understand that you wonder about Fraz.
Well, he is a wonder….the 8th wonder of the world.
Fraz is a wonder all right.
Yes, the 8th wonder.
I will not argue.
Where is Fraz? I’d like to speak with him.
I was pirating out on the beach!
I told you I’d tell him you were the 8th wonder of the world, and will not argue that point….so there you have it!
Hey, did you find any treasure?
Yeah I think he’s just afraid of you! He doesn’t usually win any arguments with Twink either.
I found 3 seashells, a quarter, and a beer can. It was empty!
He’s not afraid of me. He knows I’m right.
Oooooh, is the quarter got an old date on it?
It does! 1976! It say bi-cen-ten-nial.
That one’s a keeper. Better put it in a safe place!
I’ll put it in my secret treasure chest under my bed!
What is going on is that an old people home? I also remember those buttons too… why do they have so many buttons on the remote anyhow I only use a couple.. still waiting for the remote that move people around.. so I don’t need to get the chocolate everytime…
I’d like a chocolate remote too! I’ll tell Binky he should invent one!
I think they put all those buttons on a remote to confuse old people!
I will ask Binky to invent a new remote for you Doron, one that not only moves people around to fetch your chocolate treats but also one that will feed you the cho0colates with a spoon, that way you can carry on painting whilst the remote offers you all of your favourite chocolates 🙂 Coooooool
I want one of those too! It’d be cool!
Dark chocolate from the moon sounds delightful!
It is out of this world.
Rosey you can have milk chocolates from Mars, Jupiter and Neptune too, that Space Ship of Binky’s can go a lot further into space than it looks 🙂 I think chocolates on every planet sounds great 🙂
I’m not sure about reaching the other planets in this spaceship as it is rather small and is not equipped for long voyages.
Haha! I remember when we had a wire coat hanger as an antennae! And pliers to turn the channel! How times have changed!
You had a wire coat hanger instead of a tv? That must have been pretty boring!
Late again. I’ll take my punishment and go right to the bottom of the comments 🙁
Maybe you tuned into the wrong channel.
Hey Loon you can share my 2nd place chocolate bean trophy if you like 🙂 xxxx
lol
Fraz imagine 3d tv. Your favorite show comes right at you.
That would be really cool!
