Sometimes people just need to hear the cold hard truth. But at the same time external appearances are not what’s important but what’s on the inside that matters & in this case it’s FOOD!!!
That’s the truth! I couldn’t care less what the kitchen looks like, as long as it has plenty of chocolate and treats! That’s the only thing that matters.
After 11 years of living here, it is wearing off on me. My wife and I really notice when we travel back to the states. It takes us about 2 or 3 weeks to quit asking what is wrong with these people. Then we have the same problem when we go back to Germany. Reverse culture shock isn’t lovely.

You deserve some extra chocolates!
It is getting prettier every second!
Every time I see it, the better it looks!
Difficult for and and impossible for others. Nice save though.
Have a fabulous day and week. 🙂
Sometimes we speak a little too quickly.

In Germany it would have gone this way:
German: Being bluntly honest.
Non-German: That was the after picture.
German: Really!? Continues to be bluntly honest.
My American ears hear what they say as rude but not to the German.
The catch is that this American is being bluntly honest about his observations about German behavior.
Well sometimes we do need to hear the truth, even if it’s not what we what to hear.
Maybe Germany is wearing off on you.

That’s funny. Well, probably not to experience it. So I suppose you’re no long fully American, and not yet fully German. Maybe Germamerican.
PS I also constantly ask what’s wrong with these people, and I’ve always lived here.
If there’s chocolate in the kitchen, then it’s beautiful!
That’s the only thing that matters to me!
Kitchens. The heart of the house. It’s so hard to get it right.
Some kitchen hearts need a transplant.
