I can relate! I could write a book about the inventive ways students ‘take care of’ phone calls home. My most favorite: A student picked up the phone when it rang, sat it down, and went back to watching his Sponge Bob cartoon. The next day I asked him what happened and he said, ‘I wasn’t giving that phone call to my dad.’ He thought he was rather clever. Me? Well, okay, it was clever enough to get the job done. I did talk to dad the next day though (called him at work). 😉 I didn’t mention the Sponge Bob thing, lolol
