Sometimes you’re forced to update your music collection to the newest format whether you like it or not.
October 22 2012 is Wombat Day and it’s just two weeks away! Wombat Day is a day to gather all your friends together to celebrate the glorious wombat. A traditional Wombat Day party includes a chocolate wombat cake and wine gums, and usually ends with fireworks. The secret wombat dance is often performed, accompanied by wombat tales. But you can celebrate the day any way you wish.
Col, I’m using mine as coffee coasters 😉
Hey you are the 1st on here today how wicked of you Loon 😉 Grrrrrrrrrrrr
You have to get up awfully early to beat Loon. Three hours earlier!
When do these posts go out because I have the EST beat by 6 hours.
They post at 12:00 am EST.
Never mind, I’m sleeping at 6am. Maybe I can be the 3rd or 4th commenter. 🙂
Six am is a great time to get up!
Yes she pipped me to the post again 🙁
That’s right every Monday and Thursday, I sit and wait, and wait for Peter to post. Occasionally I fall asleep and end up right at the bottom of the comment pile. I think Fraz needs to build a Wombie App.
It’s nice to have such loyal fans!
For a small fee, I can assure either of you to be the first commenter.
OK, so how much does Androgoth pay? 🙂
Let’s just say that you can be assured top spot for a reasonable $500/week.
Sheez, he’s a cashed up goth!!!!
We’re a high-class organization!
At least you admit you are a stalker 😉
I prefer to think of Loon as a dedicated fan. At least until weapons are involved.
I don’t think they need any more ideas on how to use my CDs!
that would be cool ….
Or even Col depending on
how you shout it out 🙂 🙂
Or maybe even sweet!
or cherry pie
No, more like chocolate. Or wine gums!
Of course, that’s what fills my cherry pie 🙂
I’d like to have some of that pie, then!
You should have said “These Zings Sure Fly” lol What a brilliant cartoon strip, you always add such a fine quality Peter and this one is brilliant 🙂 🙂
I don’t know about brilliant, but it is a classic, from 10 years ago!
How long has this site and/or comic strip been running?
The comic strip for newspapers started in late 2003. The main website started a little earlier than that, but the comics weren’t posted online until early 2009. And the Wombies date back to 1999.
Impressed with your longevity!
Just not smart enough to know when to quit.
Ten years ago or one that you just created, all are equally excellent and you haven’t lost your touch on the videos either 🙂 Hint, hint… For the Halloween surprise 🙂
Thanks, Andro. You always say the nicest things. The new Halloween video should be finished before the end of the week. I hope.
Uhm, don’t really know how I got here … I’m here to see Binky … and Andro … Binky and Andro, yes, that’s it … Love you, cat 🙂
Hi, Cat. Glad to see you finally made it here!
Hey Cat it is great to see you here, just grab a pancake and some wine gums, everyone is welcome in Wombania you know? 🙂
And the pancakes and chocolates are free!
A thrown CD can fell a bull-moose at 40 paces.
I don’t think there are any bull moose in our backyard.
I bet that Chris will be ducking
a whole lot more though 🙂
He does make a good target, though!
Perhaps, you can use them to clip pirates?
That’d probably work! For zombies, too!
You really want to have some fun, find the classic albums!
Those big huge things? They’d be good frisbees!
They’re in the little cases so that they are protected right up until launch time.
I’m all prepared for WD
I guess they must be extra special frisbees if they need to be protected like that.
Yay Wombat Day! I can’t wait for your surprise!!
Yes… I wonder what it is going to be? 🙂
I don’t know, but I hope it tastes good!
They don’t make good frisbees though.
Something got lost in my brain between reading the strip and making a comment.
What I should have said was:
I disagree, they don’t make good frisbees. Who was on the other end catching this thing?
The faster you fling them, the better they zing! Winky’s a lot better flinger than me!
And no one was catching them. That’s why we went through so many of them.
Disc Golf might be fun with these.
Good idea! Do you think Chris will mind us digging a few holes in his lawn?
Or plant a post to ring them.
He might notice that when he cuts the lawn.
It’s all in the wrist action Fraz, you have to fling it with a wicked shimmi shake 🙂
I guess I need to work on that. I think I need to get more CDs.
I was thinking you guys might have a few of those CD’s that fly right back to you after you throw them!?
Like a boomerang? That would be cool! I wonder if I could make one out of a CD?
If there are any by that Tom Jones fellow you could get something else thrown back at you 🙂
Is Tom Jones related to Tom & Jerry?
If you bend them just right, they will come back *grins knowingly*
Aw, Fraz and Winky, you two are having a great time playing Frisbee with the Cd’s. I have a few around here that need to be tossed too.
You can save them for us! We’ll have fun the next time we come over!
We’ll be leaving next month, and sooner if it starts to get cold back there. So start packing your winter things and toys…I’ll save the Cd’s for you to toss around. 😉
I guess the beach fun can’t go on all year, but it should!
That’s okay Fraz, you’ll be able to have winter fun. You can take you sled out down our long driveway and build snowman and igloos and have snowball fights with Winky…Don’t forget to tell Winky to get ready too. And the best part is I’ll be inside baking all your favorite chocolate goodies.
That’s sounds really good! Winter is a lot of fun too!And chocolate goodies will make me all warm inside!
I will get the skis out 🙂
I’ll get the wax to polish them.
I’ll bring my snowboard! I like doing tricks and big jumps!
Be sure to bring the ski rope from the boat. You can board behind the snow mobile.
That sounds like fun!!
You’ll have to bring your new sled with you.
I’ll bring the rocket powered sled!
Bwahahahahahaha. Bless their hearts. They do the cutest things. Mostly.
I’ll be on the bay cruise, but I’ve a post all set up for Wombat day. I never miss Wombat Day.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Thanks, Sandee! I appreciate that.
Have fun on your cruise!
So that’s how you play a cd! 🙂
That’s how we play play them!
Ha Ha good fun with the Frisbee’s. Cheers!
The only problem is they break kinda easy.
Aww! Not the classic CDs! They are worth a fortune on Ebay!
Not any more.
Peter darn you…you gave away the punch line in the title haha
Who reads the titles? I guess I was thinking more SEO than punch line.
For Wombat day I am going to break out the ‘bottle rockets’ – those fly even better than CD’s!! W.C.C.
Yeah, bottle rockers are cool! We need to launch some of those for Wombat Day, too!
Uh-oh….someone’s gonna be in trouble!! 😛
Don’t worry, we hid the evidence. Actually we lost the evidence.
What about all the cases? What did you do with them?
I out them under my bed. Chris will never find them there!
Yall have all the fun. Growin’ up all we had to throw were cow patties. I was gonna mention that in my Redneck games but no one was reading about them so I quit.
Maybe the CD toss could become an Olympic Sport.
I read your Redneck games! I was getting some good ideas on tree flinging!
Try stickin’ a green persimmon on a limber stick. You can fling that thing half a mile. Maybe I’ll write about Kudzu jumpin’ later.
Would that work with sprouts, too? I’d sure like to fling my brussel sprouts a half mile!
First, you need a big rubber band…
A brussel sprouts sling shot!
Wow! Running for ten years!! Sheer talent my friend! Love the laughs you share. 🙂
Thank you, Indrani. The comics have only been posted online for two and a half years, though.
I think I must have been around for the whole ride on the net.
If you have, it probably seems a whole lot longer.
I just sold all my c.d.’s. Damn, all those frisbees are gone!
That’s too bad! You could’ve had a CD frisbee party!
Sounds like a great time!
I have to ask…what are wine gums? I imagine it’s not wine flavored gum.
Wine gums are much like ju-jubes, but have a chewier texture with a richer flavor supposed inspired by fine wines. You can read more about wine gums here.
I am glad you asked that question. I have been wonderin’ for 2 1/2 years.
Americans have just about everything, but not wine gums! In larger cities, wine gums can often be found in British food or import shops since they originated in England.
They need to listen to classical CDs. It might calm them down some.
I think I might have to tie the down first, though!
Hey look! Frazbees!
That’s a good idea! I could take old CDs no one wants and sell them as Frazbees!
You need a business manager.
You want to go into business with me?
Those are some cool looking frisbies. 🙂
I thought so! Chris didn’t.
You guys sure go through a ton of “frisbees”!
It’s not our fault. They break so easily!
Haha, nice one! Like Loon, I also use our old CDs as coffee coasters.
Yay, it’s actually my first time ever to celebrate Wombat Day!
Wombat Day is awesome! Even if you don’t have any wombats!
Music you can throw! Try that with an MP3 file!
And you can make ninja stars out of CDs, too!
That is why it is okay they break.
But you need a lot of them since they break so much.
Yay, I’m so excited about Wombat Day!!! 🙂
And who still uses CDs these days? Come on! I agree with the Wombies as always! Ahahh
It should be the best Wombat Day ever! Maybe we can party in my Moroccan palace!
Chris is always doing old things!
I spat so hard when I read this! Thanks for the huge laugh. 🙂
Glad you liked it, George!
I have done things like that you never know until you try.
That’s for sure!
Can’t believe it’s almost Wombat Day again!! that means we have been friend for more than a year!! WOW *hugging all the wombies, Chris and Uncle Peter*
I’m not sure how long we’ve been friends, but it seems like a long time. In a good way!
Hey Chris!!! You should put all your CD in a locked cabinet…like what my Mommy did because my human cousin is very naughty
I need a locked cabinet inside a vault to keep my stuff safe!
I wonder, that Chris didn’t kill you. 😉
I think he might have wanted to.
…it wasn’t so long ago… God… I feel old!
Mini-frisbees come in ‘classic’? Cool!
They all seem to fly the same, though. Whatever it says on them.
