I am sorry to hear that some people think a movie can be great without chocolates ,rockets and no one blowing up..what has the world come to and what happened to people’s taste…may be they need more chocolates in their life to get a better perspective..

I have heard of Citizen Kane almost my whole life and I have never seen it. I guess because nothing blows up and there are no car chases. (I’m almost 62 years old.)
Despite the fact that nothing blows up, and despite the opinions of the little fur balls, Citizen Kane is an excellent movie.

Not you, too! Citizen Kane is a great movie. And so are a lot of the other old classics. Casablanca, The African Queen, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Key Largo, The Maltese Falcon, almost anything by Alfred Hitchcock. . .

OK, so I have seen one more…African Queen. I have nothing against them, only I have never been a movie buff. Then again, ask me anything Pixar/Disney, Buena Vista animation or DreamWorks animation…I can quote lines. Side effect of being the old woman in the shoe.
I get to watch most of the new computer animated movies too. Luckily most of them are quite good these days.

Who has time for movies or TV? My life is filled with the adventures of an old Geezer and I use up most of my time havin’ fun. If I ever get bored then, I’ll watch other people havin’ fun and makin’ money in a movie.
I guess old geezerhood is quite time consuming, then.

OMG, Citizen Kane is BRILLIANT and so too the story behind it. Especially the “rosebud” meaning.
The depth of the story, and it’s relevance to today is quite amazing. I’m really surprised at how few people have seen it.
I think we should all watch this one together, it will be a lot of fun and equally we will be able to have lots of cinema treats too so we can’t lose 🙂

Surprisingly, a lot of people haven’t seen it. Even after 70 (!) years, though, Citizen Kane holds up as one the best, if not the best, movie ever made.

Gene Wilder definitely gave it a distinctive appeal. He always played those slightly crazy characters.
