Newspaper Recipe Collecting
Collecting delicious recipes is easy. Having the inclination and skill to actually make the dishes is the hard part. Winky is willing to help out and will volunteer for any cook who needs a taste-tester.

I’m notorious for saving coupons to restaurants that I never go to. My wife just shakes her head at me. 🙂
The anticipation is at least half the fun. Plus it’s a lot less calories.
And usually the coupons taste better. And I don’t have to leave a tip.
And you don’t even have to leave the house!
It would be nice if my wife would even let me back into the house.
Oh-oh. Sounds as if you need a peace offering. Double-fudge chocolate cake?
I currently have several Hungry jacks coupons (aka Burger King in non-Australian countries) They are buy 1 Whopper get one free.At least Winky thought of cooking the recipes he collected & they do say it’s the thought that counts…
And in terms of thinking about cooking and food, Winky has a whole lot of thoughts.
Hungry Jacks here is a pancake mix.
Well, if Winky ever does decide to cook he will have the recipes to use. I’ve been thinkin’ about makin’ a cookin’ video and maybe a cook book. Maybe Winky could share some recipes.
Winky would be happy to share his recipes. Hopefully, you’ll share some baked goods.
HA! I do the same with coupons, I always forget I have them and they rarely get used.
Seems like a common problem. Good intentions, but poor follow through. It’d work a lot better if coupons didn’t have expiration dates.
Oh this is so me. I love to read them, but hubby is the cook in this house. I just do all the cleanup. I’m not a very good cook at all.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
If you leave cut-out recipes around as clues, will he make them for you? Cleaning up isn’t bad when you get to eat the fruits of his labor.
It’s the thought that counts. The only bad thing is you can’t eat thoughts.
We’ll have to work on that. If you could eat your thoughts, you’d never go hungry. Well, I guess some people would.
I just depend on my wife to make everything for me. Anything happens to her and I will be on a diet of to go pizzas.
I guess you’d better hope she sticks around if you want to have a balanced diet.
She loves me so she’s not going anywhere unless she croaks from her own cooking.
Well I certainly hope not!
I love the camera angle. I used to clip recipes from the paper and never cook them. Newspaper clips taped onto cards get all yellow anyway. Web to the rescue, the recipes are all on the web anyway so when I do feel inclined to cook I just search one of the recipe sites and there’s a tool to quickly capture and blog the ones I like.
There was a 2008 Tix cookbook, maybe I’ll put it out as a freebie again.
In 3D you can manipulate the camera until you get the composition you want. I still clip recipes, but rarely use them. The web is probably a better resource, and always available, but somehow web recipes don’t hold the same appeal.
Cooking With Tix sounds like a good idea. Does Tix use Trix?
Another collecting habbit people seem to have. I’m trying to cut down.
There’s always something to collect; I like collecting extra calories.
Maybe you should borrow Winky’s scissors. Everybody wins!
Except Winky. He’d be scissorless and unable to cut out any more recipes.
I thought we were talking about how to *cut* these habits
Don’t you need special scissors to cut out bad habits?
random question, does anybody know if any wombats have been affected by the flooding in Australia?
Unfortunately quite a few wombats have drowned in the recent floods. The true extent of how many were adversely affected will probably not be known for quite a while, if ever, since there isn’t reliable information as to what the wild wombat population really is.
There is an article and video here: Wombat Drownings
that is horrible 🙁 thanks for the information though…
Yes, unfortunately not very good news, Agent Moose.
Oh I hope not agent moose! I think Wombie just needs someone to cook them for him, look at his body language.
Yes, Winky very much needs a cook since he isn’t the best in the kitchen. Well, he’s probably the best eater in the kitchen.
Wombats get clobbered by cars on Victoria’s roads all the time. Wombalina Vombatu got very depressed about it, and wouldn’t eat or come out of her log for three days. Tix does not use Trix. They are sugar laden poison. my profile on keyingredient.com is tixrus. That’s where most recipes I have clipped live. I like jazzing them up with my own photo whenever possible.
Cars and wombats do not make a good mix.
Yeah, most of those pre-sweetened boxed cereals aren’t exactly health food.
I looked for you on keyingredient.com but couldn’t find any way to search for you.
It takes a lot of ambition to try some of those recipes!
Especially if you can’t cook.
Oh I had that same habit! boxes of recipes clippings, yellowed w/age… and then… the silverfish found them & ate most of them! ick! I have tons of cooks too, only I really don’t cook much anymore… we just scavenge around in the cupboard searching for food bits to fly into our mouths. so sorry about the flooding… I hope you find your family safe Winky & blinky.
At least someone got to eat the recipes. Scavenge feeding is a good technique for the cooking disadvantaged.
Thanks for the concern, but we’re not in Australia, despite the overwhelming number of Wombies around here. Our hearts go out to those affected by the floods, though.
