My laptop has been burning my legs, which I read may cause skin cancer. I fix this by separating my legs from the computer with a pillow. Though maybe I should roast some marshmallows.
They are like Mother replacements for us. I guess that’s why they have Motherboards. Hmmm… An idea for a new TV show. How I Met Your Motherboard
BTW I’ve decided to stay put at the Old Codgers. I may introduce some of my critters into life at the Retirement Home. I think my readers will probably grateful for me to not move again.
Oh I redirected my mind back to the original change idea after some more thinking about it. Being with a themed comic I feel kinda tied into a certain set of characters & storylines. My blog is more of a generic title so I can post random comics, animnal ones, old codgers etc with out it having to fit into a crertain theme. I have also switched it from a regular blog to a comicpress site as I prefer the full width comic display & I don’t usually have much to write about in blog type posts. Just gunna keep it purely comics. Am I making sense Peter or just going mental again? I know what I mean but sometimes it sounds confusing to explain it to others. My tonymcgurk.com url is my main hosting account domain so it’ll save paying for extra domains as well when the old codgers & others I have had eventually expire. The Tas,manians expired the other day & I didn’t bother renewing it. Thanks for all the support & putting up with my madness..
No, it makes sense. Your name URL is probably the only one you can’t change! I did like the others, and especially the Tasmanian one, since that one could be used for a lot of Tasmanian things. You know, one thing you can do is set up subdomains of your main URL. So you could have oldcodgers.tonymcgurk.com if you really felt the need to separate them at a later date. But having all your different stuff would be fine under your main URL, and since you have so many different ideas and characters, you can post anything you want there and not worry about it.
“Wombies’ teeth grow continuously throughout our lives, so cavities aren’t really a problem.” Well that must save you a lot of money considering going to the dentists isn’t cheap 🙂
I am going to chuck out my hot water bottle and take my cpu to bed tonight.. and have the marshmallows for breakfast in bed.. 5*s… I wonder if it can cook my pizza also…
That’s a great idea, Doron! I guess it depends how hot your computer gets. Binky’s computer gets really hot when he does his rocketry calculations. I think we could cook a pizza!
I’m going to stock up on marshmallows now. Still have an old laptop that overheats, as we all do, and never considered re-purposing it!
Obviously I’m not getting the next chapter of Fun Projects For You and Your Wombat finished anytime soon.
Victor and Victoria are sulking tonight because I told them Burning Man may not be what they expected. It will be hot, and dusty and there’s a ton of Two Boots in a Dryer, er Techno, playing at all hours. Besides, they’re small and may fall in the porta-potties!
All they heard was… Free Chocolate and red wine. Should never have told them I always option to give the wine away and keep the chocolate.
Sheesh whadda maroon.
Maybe Binky can give them a call and a few hints on camping. Don’t tell them about the rocket-powered wheelchair! They’ll stow away.
Love your marshmallows boys!
Perhaps there is something to be made of using old laptops as warming appliances. It’s no longer good enough to do your computing, but it’ll keep your mug of hot chocolate warm!
If Victor and Victoria go to Burning Man, perhaps they’ll have to wear life jackets in case the unspeakable happens in those porta-potties.
I will try to inform them of the dangers, and try to teach them some of the ancient wombat ways on how to survive Burning Man. Many of our ancestors lived in desert conditions, but us Wombies are more accustomed to dessert buffets.
We’re watching a show at the moment filmed at Australia Zoo & they had a Wombat on a lead walking it around. A foreign tourist asked Terri what it was & she replied “It’s an Australian Guinea Pig”
My 1st thought was to tell you guys about it.
That’s neat! Or maybe a bit insulting, calling a wombat a Guinea Pig. Do you know the name of the program? I’d like to see that one if it’s available over here.
The show is called Wildlife Warriors & was made by Steve & Terri Irwin of Australia Zoo when Steve was still alive. I don’t know if you’re familiar with him. He was killed while filming a show after being stung by a stingray some years ago. Terri & her children have continued on with Steve’s legacy running the zoo & producing TV shows. I think it used to be on The Discovery Channel. If you search Youtube you’ll find some episodes. Here’s a link to their channel https://www.youtube.com/user/AustraliaZooTube
We went there when we were living in Queensland & I reckon it’s one of the best & most interactive zoos I’ve ever been to
Yes, I am familiar with Steve and his work. His death was a great loss as he did more for animals than just about anyone. I remember he had a group called Wildlife Warriors, but I’m not sure I ever saw the show. I used to watch a few of his shows like The Crocodile Hunter and others. It must have been nice to visit his zoo.
Thanks for the link, Tony. I’ve bookmarked it and will watch some of the videos later.
Sorry for my lateness Peter last week was a busy, away from the pc kind of week but I am back again now 🙂 Hope you have been enjoying the weekend my great friend 🙂
Love the idea of toasting marshmallows over the tower like that, but then Winky always has the best ideas when it comes down to eating anything, and marshmallows is definitely one of his favourites 🙂
Now that’s turning lemons into lemonade….well marshmallows then.
Marshmallows are much better!
And sweeter too!
Sweeter is always better!
Would you like a cup of hot chocolate to go with those marshmallows?
Would I! It’s cold this morning.
Yes, and it’s still cold, so you better have another to help keep you warm. I would want you to catch a cold.
Thanks! I’m staying near Binky’s computer because it’s nice and warm here. He’s trying to figure out something or other.
what’s better than a cup of hot chocolate? Two cups!
Two cups of hot chocolate with melted marshmallows on top!
Got one for each of your right here!…passing them to you now.
Oh boy! Thanks Deb!
or in my case turning a lemon into warm lemonade 😉
You need to think chocolate!
Where would we be now, without them (our computers)? 🙂
Well we certainly wouldn’t be here, online.
Sometimes I think I can use my phone as a hotplate for my morning coffee. Oh, the things I make it do! 😉
There sounds as if there could be an invention in that.
My laptop has been burning my legs, which I read may cause skin cancer. I fix this by separating my legs from the computer with a pillow. Though maybe I should roast some marshmallows.
That’s a better idea. Instead of the pillow, use a couple of bags of marshmallows!
I better leave them in the bag until they are done roasting. I don’t want to get marshmallows all over my legs.
Yeah. Or you could put the marshmallows between pieces of bread and end up with a toasted marshmallow sandwich!
Whatever makes them happy is all good. They are adorable and I enjoy their wittiness.
Have a fabulous day. 🙂
We need to keep warm here! It’s freezing out! Again!
Uh oh…
No need for concern, my CPUs are overclocked and always run warm, even with liquid cooling.
I never tried that one.
I’d recommend it!
I love my marshmallows crispy, let’s hope my computer doesn’t do that! 😉
Perhaps you could ramp up your quantum mechanics calculations to help get your CPU up to a higher operating temperature.
Don’t push it too hard Binky if it gets too hot…
Remember the movie Electric Dreams??? It could take over your life.
Oh wait… It’s 2014 computers have already taken over our lives. Never mind, just ignore my silly comment
t would be difficult to live without computers. I am one with my computer. Well, computers.
Some people think I am part computer, so maybe my mother was a motherboard.
A non-move move is probably less confusing than an actual move. I think.

I think that’s a safe choice as it costs about $120 to get your name legally changed. Too much
I wonder if I could get my name changed to Wombat King?
All good in the winter but WAIT until July!!! W.C.C.
The computer does make the room rather warm in the summer. I suppose I should do all my computationally intensive work during the winter.
Well, now that’s a totally different kind of campfire! Talk about being resourceful! 🙂
It’s good for a midnight snack sine Binky always works late!
Sounds good to me, but Binky also needs graham crackers and chocolate! I’m thinking s’mores! Yum!
I think I’ll make some! I’ll make enough s’mores for Binky and you, too!
Aww…thanks, Winky! You’re too kind! 🙂
Good food is better when you share it with friends!
Are Wombies immune from cavities? How do you keep your pearly whites from rotting out after eating all that sugar?
Wombies’ teeth grow continuously throughout our lives, so cavities aren’t really a problem.
Are they like rabbit’s teeth? Their teeth are always growing, like fingernails. They have to always chew on things to file their teeth.
I think that’s why wombies are always chewing chocolate.
Although we’re marsupials and not rodents, our teeth are very similar to that of rabbits. Chocolate helps keep our teeth in shape.
“Wombies’ teeth grow continuously throughout our lives, so cavities aren’t really a problem.” Well that must save you a lot of money considering going to the dentists isn’t cheap 🙂
I suppose we’re lucky that we don’t have any need for dentists. I’d far rather spend my money on chocolate and rockets.
My CPU makes me happy :O)
Me too. I would be lost without a CPU.
It’s worth the wait!
Toasted marshmallows always are!
Mmmm mmmm, Mmmmarshmallows, (sorry, having a bit of trouble talking , ‘cos I bagged a few whilst Binky was looking the other way) 🙂 xPenx
That’s okay, there’s enough for everyone!
I am going to chuck out my hot water bottle and take my cpu to bed tonight.. and have the marshmallows for breakfast in bed.. 5*s… I wonder if it can cook my pizza also…

Chocolate + internet + tea= Happiness 🙂
Not so sure about the tea, but welcome aboard, Nathaniel! I wasn’t sure if you’d ever make it over here.
Herbal Tea and Chocolate is a great combination, you should try it sometime 🙂
Maybe I will.
Hell has frozen over 😉
Seriously though, it is kind of strange seeing Kermit in the comment section of Wombania. Glad to see you here Nathaniel. 🙂
I think the Wombies would be glad to play with Kermit . Especially Fraz.
Glad to be here, and I am glad to have finally fixed my computer 🙂
The only way I know how to fix a computer is to toast marshmallows on it. I guess that doesn’t really fix it, but it fixes me.
“The only way I know how to fix a computer is to toast marshmallows on it.” I guess I will try that next time my computer messes up 😉
I can’t say that will work, but at least you’ll get some yummy treats out it!
Marshmallows?? Wonder if Winky could pass them on thru’ the Internet? 🙂
I’m sure Winky’s heart would let him but his mouth probably keeps getting in the way.
The trick is to keep my mouth full while I’m doing it!
I’ll try to send you some marshmallows, Dilip!
Ha Ha you are my sweet friend. 🙂
That’s probably because I eat too much sugar.
That is good use of heat energy dissipated.
And it makes yummy treats, too!
Yum, marshmellows.
It’s hard to top them! Well, maybe with chocolate.
I’m going to stock up on marshmallows now. Still have an old laptop that overheats, as we all do, and never considered re-purposing it!

I’m just glad the Zombies didn’t kidnap you or anything.

I figured a computer should be good for something yummy! And it was!
Can’t beat good marshmellows. Unless you have Hershy’s and Grahm Crakers. lol
They make a great sandwich togehter!
3 times my laptop got so hot when traveling that it just shut down.
That’s when you should have used it to make toast and coffee!
*touching my CPU* Hmmm…how come yours is warm on top? mine is on the back 😉
It depends on where the CPU and the fans are located on your computer. And some computers get a lot hotter than others.
Noted! I never understand how computer work. I only use it.
It’s a good thing we don’t have to know how things work in order to use them!
Hehe…now that’s an awesome one! Sharing it! 😀
Thanks for sharing it, Shree. I’m glad you liked it.
