My Online Life
I guess this one is showing its age. Do kids even use computers any more? Mostly it’s tablets and phones these days I would think.
(This comic strip was previously published on May 21, 2009.)
Bo Lumpkin’s grandson posted a notice on Bo’s Twitter page that probably not too many have seen. It might be a nice idea to leave a message there that the family might see.
Our good friend Chieko sent us a Wombat Day card featuring Chewbacca, a Bare-nosed Wombat who lives in Japan, at the Kronborg Castle in Copenhagen in Denmark. You can see many more pictures of Chewbacca and his travels on Chieko’s Womland website.

The world was much more simpler with Atari …. Just saying
You beat me to it again Loon, you’re so lighteningly fast (not sure that is a word but it looks good :)) Atari? Wow now you are showing your age, mind you it could have been Spektrum ZX, or was Atari out first? ๐ lol Just saying ๐ Have a happy Monday Tan ๐ xxxx
I don’t know what you guys are talking about!
Don’t worry Fraz have a chocolate
covered pancake and cake instead ๐
OK. I was kinda hungry.
Blahahahhahaha Fraz
I googled it! I think you guys are older than Chris!
Simpler, and no Wombies!
This is the first time Loon is first in commenting. Usually she is about a week late
Loon used to be first quite often. Maybe lately she’s been on Facebook too much.
The Loon has been swamped with work ๐
Is that work work, or Wombie work?
You tell him Fraz ๐ Yaaaaay
I did!
Well done Chieko, hey I will have to visit Womland and I will this week ๐ I like the artistic Chewbacca ๐
Chewbacca may not be all that artistic, but Chieko has thousands of nice pictures of him on her website.
This is a great cartoon feature Peter, I like how Fraz is telling Chris off ๐ I wonder how his pigeons are getting along? ๐ lol
Thanks, Andro. I think Chris may have a few deranged pigeons in his belfry.
Oh Fraz! What makes you think that Chris came from the middle ages ๐ Though you knowโฆsometimes I *do* feel like I amโฆit’s strange but seeing how young kids areโฆso comfortable with the internet and stuffโฆI can’t ever imagine my childhood like that! I’m so glad I had the childhood I didโฆ
Another good point is about having so many friends on lineโฆI’m that way too I thinkโฆmore friends on line than off..hahaha
Chris is way old! He probably had a pet dinosaur when he was a kid! If he ever was a kid.
I think he had a few Cave
drawings on his bedroom wall too ๐
He probably did! I wonder if he invented fire?
I don’t know about that but he perfected his cologne fragrance by rubbing two well worn bearskins together ๐ Euuuuw
They must’ve been really stinky bears. I think he probably used a skunk too!
OhโฆI am sure he was a kid once Fraz ๐ Butโฆyou know pet dinosaurs and having cave drawings are pretty coolโฆyou might want to think about that ๐
Yeah a pet dino would be pretty cool! I would if Chris has any pictures of it?
The young keep getting younger. It’s not fair! With smartphones and tablets and everyone being connected 24/7, it’s a totally different world for the new generation.
Hahahaha Peter..for some reason I feel the younger generation ages faster because they are all just rushing to and fro so many thingsโฆAND being connected 24/7 can be tiring too!
That might be true. If they burn out fast, it’ll be easier for us to catch up with them.
We can waitโฆjust may not be advisable to hold our breaths in ๐
Yeah, probably not!
Bwahahahahahahaha. Yep, most kids aren’t on these kinds of computers anymore. It’s amazing to watch kids though. They have their heads stuck in their smart phones 24/7.
Have a fabulous day. ๐
That’s what I thought. Kids will probably be born with smart phones pretty soon.
How many Facebook friends do you have Fraz? And how many do you have in real life?
Almost 500! In real life it’s a lot less.
I have a lot Facebook Page likes but it’s a lot less than what it says.
Why, did you cheat?
Even us who didn’t grow up with it are officially addicted.
The world is addicted to technology! Well, humans at least.
Okay, I’ll break out the typewriter.
What’s a typewriter?
I can’t live long without the Internet. But I don’t own a cell phone, I don’t use my iPad and I rarely use my Kindle. So I guess that evens it out a bit.
It’d be hard to live without the internet these days. I have a basic cell phone that I hardly ever use. If I had a smart phone I’d probably never go offline.
I can’t imagine life without Internet. I don’t know how I did it in the 90’s and before.
Me neither. We’d probably revert to caveman ways.
Personally I preferred the tin can and string approach to communication. ๐
I bet that’s all they had when Chris was a kid!
Ohhh I’m sure Chris is not that old!! ๐ Plus age is just a number!!! ๐
I use my phone a lot (well I’m not really a kid lol) but Internet = not good for my battery.
Have a great day.
xxx (we should add “c” for “chocolate”. cxcxcxcx)
Chris is older than he looks! And he looks pretty old!
If I had the internet on my phone, I’d probably never get off. Internet = not good for my life!
I’m sure the Wombies will love your new chocolate hug!
yeah it can be kinda annoying because it’s just too much sometimes… you’re absolutely right. But job wise… let’s be honest, it’s practical.
Some of us oldies are easily overwhelmed!
I remember that trying to catch the pigeon to untie the reply was always the tricky bit
I bet Chris could tell you how to catch a pigeon!
He uses his cologne to make them drowsy ๐
That’d probably kill them!
Yes it does have a kind of
stone age appeal that one ๐
It’s not appealing to me!
There has to be an app for this.
A pigeon app for old people?
This was definitely me about 12 years ago when I got my first computer.
Computers are way better than real people!
Now Fraz you know he sent smoke signals not pigeons.
I bet Chris did use smoke signals! I never thought of that!
I think we use to us tin cans and a string. Or just a shout out.
If they had tin cans when Chris was a kid!
Did you ask him?
Chris said he tried tin cans and string once but it didn’t work very good. Maybe his batteries were dead.
No batteries required for the tin can and string phone. Just got to use the imagination. Does Chris have that?
Chris doesn’t have anything that’s fun!
Maybe you and I can give him something fun for Christmas this year!
That would be a good idea! I don’t know what he’d think was fun though.
He’d like a newspaper to read. How about a years subscription?
That sounds expensive! Maybe I could get him a comic book. That would be more fun!
Does he like comic books?
I dunno. But he should!
But you do know he likes the newspaper, right?
Yeah Chris is always reading the newspaper.
Yes, even computers are becoming a thing of past. It is iPhone and stuffs. Great sketch.
The world has passed us by! Well, us older folks, anyway.
For some reason, due to my crazy nature, I first read “tie knots in pigeons”. Either way, you got a hearty laugh outta me today, Peter.
That’s pretty funny. I guess that would be like the Inca knotted strings, except with pigeons. Might upset a few people, though.
Now he’s dino-sore, Fraz!
I hope that doesn’t mean he’s going to be yelling at me more!
I never thought about it but the kids are using Tablets and phones far more than computers…food for thought ‘cuz it didn’t really dawn on me until I read it here. ๐
That’s what I thought. Most of the Wombie adoptions I get these days are from iPhones and tablets.
Where is the facebook page of Fraz?
I have a secret identity!
LOL loved it and spot on
I can’t even make head or tail of Facebook I just can’t find anything or navigate anywhere I end up going around in circles, although I made sure to sort the privacy settings out and untick everything took ages to find where they were hidden ๐
Have a tanfastic week & thanks for stopping by ๐
Thanks, Steve. I don’t visit Facebook very often. It seems like just another way to steal all your time.
Ha Ha Fraz is right it’s all due to the generation gap. ๐
And the Wombie gap, too.
I’m addicted to Google+. ๐
I’ll google+ you!
I’m so glad I remember the days of yore, before the internet and cell phones. I can truly appreciate the addictive natures of them now.
It’s a perspective most young people can probably never have. They’re not addicted to them, they just can’t live without them.
No. We stuck stamps on envelopes. Little whipper snapper doesn’t realize that the internet was just invented yesterday. I have a birthday tomorrow to remind me of how these things weren’t around back when.
I remember stamps. I think.
Happy (pre-)birthday, Joyce! There should be a point where we start to count our years in reverse. I have long passed that point.
Someone may have posted a status about traffic or being sleepy at work during that time!
I’m sure I missed something really good!
