Wombat Day 2012
For the eighth annual Wombat Day celebration, the Wombies made eight little Wombat Day cakes. Wombat Day is observed every October 22, and is usually celebrated with chocolate cake and wine gums. Stories about the wombat, and the wombat’s origin are told, and the party ends with a display of fireworks. The secret Wombat Dance is also performed at the more traditional celebrations.

Hey we all enjoy Wombania it’s our second home and where else can anyone have non stop chocolate eating extravaganzas and pancake jolly times 🙂 🙂 Wombania is the place to be and that is every day not just Wombat Day 🙂 Have a wonderful evening Peter and watch out for Chris, Winky and Fraz have blindfolded him and sent him on a Zombie picnic, I hope that he gets back before midnight or there might not be any chocolates left 🙁

Wow fame at last, it is greatv getting a mention on the ABC Network and what a great start to Wombat Day 🙂 I can see from everyone’s contributions that it has been yet another success and we haven’t even started eating the Zombie Jello Cake yet 🙂 Nice one Peter and your delightful Wombania 🙂
The radio mention was quite nice. A few years ago a radio host wanted to interview me about the day, but the time difference messed it up and it then it was too late to do it. Wombat Day was also mentioned on the Australian Geographic website a few years back, and it’s also on Wikipedia.
This is all brilliant to know Peter, and what a great accolade for your Wombania creation, I know that as time goes on Wombania will become even bigger, hopefully we will even see a movie, now that would be brilliant 🙂
I can just see your Wombies on a film, and just think how excited Fraz and Winky will be 🙂 Indeed all of Wombania will be famous, I mean even more famous than what it is already 🙂 Wicked
I really need to work on expanding my Wombania horizons a bit. So far I haven’t had a lot of luck with that, though. But something like a film would obviously be a good thing to strive for. Hopefully one day.

I actually agree with you frigginloon.. I just had chocolate cake coma a few hours ago. My mom bought this nice black forest cake this afternoon and I remembered Wombat Day and so I ate more than I could handle, or so that’s what my brain said. But to be honest, I’m eyeing my sister’s share of cake in the fridge (she’s still out, and she’ll be here only after her work shift), heehee..
It’s pretty hard to resist chocolate cake! Well, impossible for me. That cake would already be gone if I was there!
